A nice thought indeed. I wonder how many KW would be required to run a ship (obviously dependent on size / weight etc) would it be 160Kw or a multiple thereof ? I assume a back-up set of FCs would also be required.

Hi Trancedude - we don't have EV chargers sat on the shelf waiting for customers. We do however have a fully working demo product that was used at the launch day and open day. I'm assuming this will also be used for the roadshow events (if they are still happening). I'm assuming the potential buyers have seen the demo unit but will need the 160kw unit(s) to make economic sense.
What we do have however is the ability to produce stacks in-house - I would suggest however if demand is already there for the 160Kw units then we need a way to ramp up production, perhaps earlier than originally planned.

We have £2M more in the bank than we did this time last week and seemingly without having to beg for it. Yes, the circumstances seem less than transparent at the moment (we are all speculating as usual - what else can we do ?) but this is a huge positive for AFC to move forward with these additional funds.
AFC need to start feeding us news - we really are crying out for something to genuinely increase shareholder value... PLEASE ?

I give up! Shame we can’t all pool our shares and pay someone to trade like these people seem to be able to do.

I hope to goodness AFC BoD can see what’s going on and have a plan for sustained news releases. I appreciate they’re probably up to their eyes trying to get sales but someone should have sole responsibility for ensuring news is published even if that is the AFC website blog or news items. I totally agree with others that we should be moving away from the standard “we’ve been a research company for 13 years “. People will naturally think wtf have you been doing in all that time and still no sales?
Pay for some staff PR training. Pay fo some proper marketing. The time has come to step up the game!

Excellent exposure for AFC, globally !

I'm wondering if the smaller units are actually a precursor to smaller scale diesel genset displacement for say mobile phone masts etc. Does anyone know what the typical output is for this type of diesel generator ?

MPO818 - apologies - my decimal point was in the wrong place ! My points is still valid though - nobody complained about that at the time. My point re. bonus was that some was suggesting the £1M raise today was to be used for bonus payments which is clearly crazy !
Not such a "terrible" post in my opinion.

Of course we need sales and I want to see these as much as everyone else. If this raise gets us to that position then all well and good. I want to see my investment grow like everyone else here. It's looking a lot better than it did just 3 months ago but we have some months to go I think before we see the rises we all want to see. Yes H2 is getting more traction but the company valuation should be realistic (with steady growth) and not hype driven !

I'm amazed to see negativity this morning about the fundraise. We are commercial and in order to satisfy initial orders we will absolutely require funding for this. From memory, nobody seemed disturbed by the £5.25M raise prior to Christmas. We should be pleased that one individual has the confidence to provide this funding. It's also very positive to see that the previously stated June delivery for the 160KW unit needs to be brought forward. Suggests demand is there and confidence is high.
Again, we need to see the bigger picture here and stop the petty quips about bonuses for Adam Bond - it's tiresome and infantile. AFC should now be at delivery stage and this funding will help get to that point. If you don't like it, you should be invested here and sure as hell shouldn't be talking down a company that's going to help address many of the burning issues facing our world currently.

Some interesting responses. I was more thinking that ITM requires electricity to produce hydrogen. AFC requires hydrogen to produce electricity. The 2 companies have a direct relationship, each unit feeding the other. Providing ITM process produces more hydrogen than is required to generate it via the AFC unit then we have a circular process with the output still being hydrogen to feed the hydrogen economy.

Just a thought about EVs. Housing in UK is quite unique. Our country is full of terraces of houses and as a result, it’s virtually impossible to park outside your house. So EV charging would be impossible for this type of housing exacerbated further when households have more than one car or there physically isn’t enough room in a street. Yes you could fill the street with charging points but that would require set spacing for allocated parking slots.

So clearly that’s just one example where EVs are not going to be the full solution for personal transport. Hydrogen driven engines will clearly need to be in the mix. I wonder whether AFC will go down this route- clearly a much smaller fuel cell required.
Radio 4 seems to be getting very focused on the environment. If this continues, along with other media then I think we’re going to see a seismic shift away from fossil fuels a lot sooner than 2050. The oil tanker analogy (Ironic isn’t it) is looking to change direction very quickly in my opinion

I was wondering if AFC could potentially tie up with ITM at some stage in the future when our larger units are commercially available? ITM are in the business of creating renewable hydrogen. If a small percentage of their output was diverted to an AFC FC then then ITM hydrogen would be totally renewable and efficient as the power to generate the hydrogen would be produced on site.

I disagree. Whether AFC and wireless charging are compatible or not, there will will be a demand in car parks where cables are not such an issue. Even if wireless did become standard practice (even for car parks) AFC units would still stand in where grid cannot cope

Looks like AFC will need to factor in wireless charging as an option. Or rather, any partner they team up with such as Rolec

The silence is naturally frustrating but I know that behind the scenes a lot is happening. I think it’s eagerness to see this company succeed after what has been a long journey. 10 years for me next month.

wouldn't the battery be used as a back-up or secondary source if multiple charges taking place. The FC would surely supply the charge directly to the car and top up the battery(ies) ?

Losing 6-10 spaces sounds a bit pessimistic to me - the unit is supposed to be the size of a car space (I guess plus source H2/Ammonia ) so max 3 spaces ?

Then supermarkets will have to reconfigure their carparks around the charging station - so that will take planning and approval on their part - all takes time I guess ?
