You missed the fact that their first order might be in contractual negotiation stage. Remember we launched just before the Christmas period so I'd take at least 3 weeks out of the sales cycle for that. AFC usually "do" news from a left field position. I just sit back and wait for news - we aren't in a position to know diddly squat as to what's happening behind the scenes so no point second guessing.

On a separate note, I found it interesting that there was very little objection at the end of last week to the SP steadily increasing yet people on the board yesterday were trying to talk the SP down again. I'm cynical about the majority of posts on this board bar trusted long term posters - just my opinion !

Hi Haggis - I'd argue that PHE can produce H2 by the bucket load. In fact PHE were originally going to purchase an AFC fuel cell to prove that "cleaned" H2 product for use in fuel cells.

Companies and councils are going to have to act quickly to ensure charger coverage is ramped up quickly otherwise the march to EVs will stall as consumer confidence will decline. Environmental issues are now in the public eye and now is the time to capture sentiment and ensure infrastructure can support demand.
Come on AFC, show us you’re at the forefront of this demand. :)

Hi BumbleB - I don't disagree and environmental impacts have to be taken into consideration for all such developments. In this case, it would have enclosed an existing dockland area which was originally the copper capital of the world in its day. It would smarten up a blighted area next to Gower peninsula (1st area of outstanding natural beauty in the UK).

Wales recently wanted to (and still do) build the first tidal lagoon. Once built, this small scale path finder project would generate power for 120,000 homes for about 120 years. It will provide a fledgling new industry for tidal lagoon technology, provide new sporting facilities and spin off marine business within its walls. It was turned down by T May’s government when a previous energy minister Hendry recommended its construction. Doesn’t sound like Wales is lagging behind to me. They’re also a much smaller population than England.
Wales introduced plastic bag charging years before England and Wales has one of the best recycling records in the world.

I was driving home from a very pleasant couple of days in Wales yesterday. There was an interesting program on Radio 4 with the editor of the Spectator looking into news and the obsession with delivering bad news, no matter what medium we receive that news. The fact that the world (based on real data) is actually improving over recent decades such as air quality, infant mortality, human longevity to name just three areas. The program was trying to understand whether we are obsessed with bad news rather than focus on the good things that are happening in the world that has caused real an beneficial change to the human race. The argument on the newspaper side (The Times) that focussing on the negative actually drives that change to happen. That’s a reasonable argument I guess but, there’s also a really valid argument that we, as a society, also need to know the good things that are also making our lives better rather than the sensationalist news we’ve become used to.

So, why have I written (probably really badly) the words above? Well, I instantly compared the program to the certain individuals who blight our forums such as this one. I wholeheartedly agree with individuals challenging tech or individual posts. What I can’t abide however is individuals who are persistent in their endeavour to create negativity or introduce inaccuracies in their posts to deliberately cause doubt and fear.
Companies such as AFC Energy, ITM, PHE are here to deliver change to outdated existing industries that are causing real harm to human health and the environment that we HAVE to preserve. I put it to all those persistent negative(derampers?) to search their consciences and, whatever their motives are for doing such actions they consider the harm they are doing not only to the companies they are running down but to the longterm harm to society and the planet. Wouldn’t it be better to research the company and encourage that tech to become a force for good?
Wouldn’t it better to let a company with potential to realise its potential from the outset to engender positive competition which will accelerate the he benefits to society and the health of our planet ?

Whoever you are, whoever is paying you, it really is time to search your conscience and stop this activity for what must only be greed !
I’ll be 10 years invested in AFC this February I think. It’s been a long and stressful haul. I believe AFC with its new portfolio of products will be a force for good in getting the planet’s health back and hopefully deliver is ALL a decent return on our investments to enable these positive benefits to society.

Interestingly, the editor of The Times has asked editors and reporters to start reporting good news stories also. Something that will benefit us all to understand that we are indeed making progress in this complex world we all share.

I remember the expensive materials being removed from the updated “gloop” a few years back. I understood this to be fundamental to the design of the FC to enable production costs to be reduced drastically and ensure we had a competitive product. I see no reason why AFC would suddenly add the nickel/palladium back in ?

Is this becoming another distraction on here or is it a question that can be answered by AFC in their website?

Here’s looking forward to a positive start to the new decade where AFC begin as a fully commercial company with sales, targets and delivery.

I reported him again this morning. Maybe his work is done getting the price down for the million share purchase earlier. Sickening if that’s the case. Good riddance to the burger !

WTF ! I go to a few meetings and come back to a 22% drop ! No justification at all based on all the information we have received recently from AFC.

This stinks of manipulation and we all know it'll rocket again (probably after the 30 days rule) when even more positive news comes in from AFC.

I hope the FCA is watching this very closely and the sooner AFC moves out of AIM into the main market the better.

I've hung around for 9 years - I'm not selling a share based on the news we've seen recently and the enormous potential now that AFC is commercial and we've had many publications over the past week selling the story. Not to mention the big players who are now actively doing their due diligence on our available products.

Following the launch of AFC Energy last week and so much publicity emerging throughout the industry, let’s hope that we can build on this positive position throughout this week and the weeks and months ahead.
There’s absolutely NO reason why this shouldn’t be the case!

My neighbour works on Hinckley Point. I can’t see that coming online to date or budget. AFC is there now. And with the larger units on track for mid-2020 and 2021 will still be available a whole lot sooner than our new nuclear sites.

I still think there’s a massive market for supplying power to aircon units abroad. Think of all this sky scrapers in the Middle East or Australia which much take a massive demand on grid/local networks. Imagine if the power to supply aircon units was supplied by AFCs ! Enormous market market!

Hi chippyjo. I also picked up that the battery unit can also be fed from the grid. So, there may be circumstances where a battery/grid system is required initially and then the FC component is added on as demand increases or subsides given the mobile nature of the combined systems. Total flexibility for customers!

I think we can all agree that AFC have morphed into a company that is now commercial. It appears that word is already out that we have solutions available that will address current problems that will only get worse, and on a global scale. If we can tap into a portion of that market then AFC has a bright future ahead and AFC will contribute to cleaning up the world a lot sooner than 2050.
For us frustrated LTHs, we can now look forward to real progress in terms of sales and a steady set of product rollout over the next months and years. An exciting year ahead for sure.

I’m hoping that our resident rat has completed his work and whoever is paying him is satisfied that now is a good time to invest in AFC.

Why on earth had the SP behaved so poorly today of all days in AFCs existence? Rather dismayed! There seem to be a lot more buys than sells and we’re lower ?

Brilliant news. A prestigious and very appropriate event to showcase AFCs products and capabilities.

I’d be amazed if car manufacturers hadn’t been in contact already to ensure some due diligence on AFCs EV chargers. They wouldn’t to set up at the motor show and discover AFCs charger wasn’t compatible !
