Suggest we all just accept there's going to be a lot of market uncertainty over the coming weeks (hyped or otherwise).

I firmly believe we have much to look forward to with AFC over the coming weeks and months. Yes, the timing of the virus is unfortunate in terms of where AFC are with regard to commercialisation but, nothing fundamental has changed and there is ever increasing talk and action on climate change.

I was heartened last night when watching Question Time on BBC. There is an increasing and real mood for us all unite to get through these difficult challenges whether that be Covid-19, climate change mitigation, NHS, social care etc.

Opportunities will arise and AFC will be ready and poised !

I disagree. It is inevitable that other countries, including UK will see a sharp rise in Covid-19. I do think there was an over reaction on the stock markets but that is natural. If we do see a large spread of the virus then that will naturally affect businesses.
We all have a part to play in minimising risk and that is simply by washing hands properly and regularly. Simple!

Daz. You don’t come across as an investor in AFC and your last post shows you’re more like Jeckyl&Hyde. Who do I believe? Neither I’m afraid

Hi P2P - great post. It’s good to get a size comparison like that. It really puts everything into context and emphasises the true potential of what AFC has to offer.
I find it annoying seeing perfectly good farmland being replaced by solar panels. If the site is unproductive then fair enough. I suspect that this situation may change as we need to produce more crops locally and sustainably. There should be incentives for domestic solar with solar tiles which are sympathetic to buildings. Commercial properties with large roof surface areas should also be incentivised to self generate.
Today’s RNS was again measured, confident and professional. Very encouraging indeed. It’s a shame the sky interview had to be postponed but definitely the right move.

Not a case of calming down - every time we see the SP drop a lot of posters get back to negative posts. We are in agreement I think, it's just that I have set a timescale on what I think would be a reasonable timescale to get our first contract. I don't thank is unreasonable considering we were declared commercial in early December '19.

Bleal - I think government incentives to purchase EVs will need to be extended to encourage a faster switch. It’s certainly got me thinking about what I should do next ie go bold and go EV for 2nd car. If the demand is there, and we’re told demand is increasing, then the infrastructure should follow at pace.

Oh for goodness sake give them some time! They’ve only just finished the roadshow !
Yes we’re all anxious to see a contract but days after their roadshow. Be realistic I’m betting on another couple of months before we see a firm order. I hope to be proved wrong and it’s earlier than that but that’s my stance.

Apologies about the figure I quoted - didn't mean to sound alarmist. And yes, I would assume AFC would have done due diligence on this investment. If this is scaling up, there should be a prototype built at a location. It would be good to see where this work is being done.

Hi Rooky - good bit of detective work ! So, should we be concerned ? If £500k has gone to an organisation that is doing research then that research must be conducted in some sort of lab or business unit ? Otherwise, on what basis would AFC part with that investment !

Very interesting that AFC features so heavily on their front page - when you link through it refers back to the continuation of the joint partnership which is old news really - maybe we're going to see an update here otherwise the prominence still when they have so many arms within their own business ?

Hi - to be clear, I don't think anyone has disputed that H2 direct or ammonia can be used to supply the units. It should be a case by case decision. Clearly if you have a FC unit in the middle of nowhere supplying a phone mast for instance, then ammonia could be the most economical solution but yes, it'll come down to transport costs (not very often in this scenario) plus cost of cracker versus local site with easy access to H2 etc. I suspect each application will need to be analysed on a case by case basis.
Good to see some recovery today. I suspect a bumpy ride over the next few weeks until we get covid-19 under control.

Andle - we have discussed this many times on this board and with one particularly annoying poster who was banned from this board before Christmas. Hydrogen is safe or is a safe as any other gas. It is being pumped into the gas network into your home (in certain parts of the country at least). Coming on this board and discussing safety of H2 when AFC has all the necessary safety approvals in place is deemed to be a non-topic in my opinion. The H2 economy is taking burgeoning - we need this new economy to address our very urgent climate issues. Just look out of the window again this morning - this weather is not normal and will continue like this unless we start to address these real world issues, NOW !

Of course we'll need ammonia - why would you build in additional cost of transporting H2 when ammonia harnesses a whole lot more H2 for the same volume ? If you have a remote area, the last thing you want to be doing is delivering H2 every whipstitch !
