My car is due for change. I’m definitely considering getting the equivalent in EV. One of the major positives out of this awful COVID situation is the major and positive effect on the environment. It’s a joy to get outdoors and having 80% cleaner air makes me feel very positive about what could be achieved with the right direction from us, the purchasers of vehicles. Governments need to speed up legislation for industrial transport.
Look what society has achieved in the past 5 or 6 weeks. We can apply that to anything we want to.

DW has gone from always posting 2 messages to a virtual tirade of posts. I have given up reading anything on here.

I just hope that after we’re over this world crisis (and whilst it will improve in the short term, we’re not out of the woods until we get a vaccine) that people will see that we’re not going to get sales in the short term, regardless of virus. We’re entering into a new world of clean tech and and a cleaner environment. It’s not going to happen overnight and that’s the harsh reality. We have funding confidence to get us to a strong sales position but we need patience to get us through the virus and back on track. New electric cars are the last thing on people’s minds right now but it will come.

If you’re not interested in new technologies helping rid the world of dirty, outdated technology that have been doing untold harm to the planet since the industrial revolution. That’s your choice. But do us a favour, go and start ramping the oilie boards rather than blatantly shorting stocks like AFC. Your negativity is tedious beyond words! Goodbye!

RF1980 - why on earth are you being so rude ? We're supporters of AFC as much as you are. Making wild guesses as to whom our products will be aimed at is totally futile and makes yourself look a bit foolish. You have absolutely no idea where Tom Pollard is focusing on and neither do the rest of us. At least turn your posts into a conversation !

Hi RF1980 - I think/hope that after all this is over, Government and industries take a long hard look at this situation and capitalise on the need for major change to:
1) Healthcare - preparedness for future pandemics and ensuring we have the resources in place to act swiflty - people and technology
2) Social care - ensuring we able to manage the vulnerable in our society - sufficient care staff in place and medical research to help our aging citizens - this will be you and I one day
3) Environment - we will witness an incredible drop in harmful gases in our atmosphere in the upcoming weeks - we need to capitalise on this position and ensure we can drastically reduce emissions at a scale not even comprehended just a matter of weeks ago. We have the brains, we have the technology both of which can come together to roll out at unprecedented speed. All we need is the political will to make it happen and the will of multi-nations. Not only will this result in a cleaner planet but the new jobs that will be created on the back of such initiatives will become a self fulfilling prophecy. Pie in the sky ? ..... from what I've seen of this country in the past 2 weeks, absolutely anything IS possible.

I’ll be amazed if the AGM goes ahead other than being some sort of WebEx facility that we can all dial in to. Good that it’s going ahead though.

Reference to cleaner air all across Europe in the news. A silver lining amongst the grave news. Something positive needs to happen after all this is over and I hope that the world will realise how much cleaner the environment is as a direct result of the virus. I hope there’s a massive drive to push forward climate controls and new industries will flourish on the back of this.

Hi Rooky - totally agree. I wouldn't normaly subscribe to capitalising but we're seeing this behaviour a lot at the moment, in particular the madness of shopping stockpiling and people selfishly buying like there's not tomorrow with the knock-on effect to key workers, older people and the vulnerable in society. We all have a duty to be considerate and the financial industry should not be benefiting from the current crisis. We've said our piece, let's stick to AFC :)

Yes, this crisis will take time to recover. Do you really think the world can carry on using fossil fuels ? This is a wake-up call to clean up our act on a global scale. The unexpected benefit of this virus is an instant drop in pollution - cleaner air that we're seeing now is a taste of what can be achieved with the right technology developed and a global demand to ensure we deliver. Its a hugely complex task ahead to get out of this crisis but we should not ignore that we have to deliver a cleaner planet.

I have emailed AFC via their website requesting a message on how the company is dealing with the virus and, as shareholders, we need to be kept informed. I've lost count of the number of emails I've had from businesses small and large stating how they are dealing with this crisis. AFC should be no different
