All you have to do is look chronologically at the announcements to see things are moving forward.
Firstly with the placing in October the announced that they will look at the benefits of using NXP002 alongside existing IPF treatments, which makes sense as the first pre-clinical was to understand whether it worked first and foremost.
"The Board believes the value of NXP002 can be enhanced by studying the benefit of NXP002 in combination with therapies currently marketed for IPF and has prioritised this pre-clinical work, since likely adoption of new therapies for IPF will be on top of current standard of care."
Then in the interims at the end of December, of which Brindley was well on board with, they highlight that this work is underway and to expect results this quarter (Q1 2021). Which imho, will be the precursor to signing any deal.
"Pre-clinical development activities were prioritised to evaluate the benefits of NXP002 alone and in combination with standard of care for the treatment of IPF. Results of this study are expected in the first quarter of 2021."
