WillJa I googled it and this is what it came up with......Shares are described as "sold" in trading systems, even after a purchase, because a "sell" order is a fundamental action within the stock market, and the term "sold" refers to the completion of a transaction, regardless of which side of the transaction was initiated by a buyer. The stock being acquired is the target company in an acquisition, and its stock price typically rises to a price close to the purchase price....Kinda makes sense
