Sorry Manunited31 but Gerry557 is partly correct I did a quick google and found this.....Wind turbines automatically stop or "feather" their blades in high winds, typically when speeds exceed roughly 25 m/s (around 55-60 mph or 90 km/h). This safety mechanism, known as the "cut-out" speed, prevents structural damage to the blades and components from extreme stress and before you go off on one I've held UKW since 2020 ....
