Shareminator, it needs to close over $3000 but fingers crossed this time or next time. I have long to sell half my Hoc when gold reached $3000 as thought shares would be above 350p. I am thus hanging on but if gold successfully clears $3000 and silver does even more then £3 shouldn't be long....a few if's as always in this market and with our slightly share now over half my overall holdings having built up even more after the 4th quarter which was an unfair banging. Good thing is I have friends wanting to buy me lunch as persuaded them to join in, I reply do book up in case we tumble again before lunches

Sometimes however miners have to as a condition of borrowing as if gold falls they may not have enough for payback. This may have been the case with Mara Rosa but disappointing to have seen the collar continue this year and I hope sincerely Hoc do not hedge further. Many funds avoid miners that hedge as obviously weaker if they have to, plus often speculating which they often aren’t good at imho

Tripod exactly as said we r exposed 70% this year, so disappointing we have a collar as well as the hedge in 2025. However I am so pleased it is down to around 15% for 2026 and 2027 and then please no more. On should not invest in miners that play at hedging, unfortunately our position we were so precarious we had to. If you want hedging do it yourself, but miners should stick to mining. IMHO All best

Nice to see some decent figures and even a dividend although still v small at under 1% due to the still heavy investment in a rosy looking future. As with Centamin that was always next year till it became this year, Hoc should do v well in 2027/28 if gold holds up/rises, and hopefully a rise on these today

You have to admire the way THS unlike more successful companies bring out the trumpet and blow it on the rises even here, and ignore the analysts on way down, and questions from investors that don’t praise - a bit like Musk and Trump, maybe a SA thing? Rh is ironically back below 6000 on JMAT as they blow, however hopefully only a little profit taking, prices will soar, Karo will become not only viable but profitable….oh and what was that I just saw flying by…ever hopeful despite the PR

I am hoping for Good figures …but fear they will be marred by heavy hedging hit, h1 report said Derivative financial liabilities $68.9m. Not surprising as collar 100,000 oz with $2252 call and hedge another 27600 oz @2100 if I read it right, do check figures

2025 continues as we have a collar on 60k oz at $2485 plus a hedge on 50k oz at $2167. Ie a third of our production at $600 below the current price losing us a potential further $65m and more if gold rises further.(again please check)

I am not sure if I have all these right and we are exposed to rising gold with over half our output but shame about the rest. So I see why they fall into the results and have the big shorts. I wonder if or when they will ever stop as if read right they have already hedged 50k oz of 2026 $2167 and 2027 $2206. They should keep divi now to repay more debt so can stop speculating imho

Yes very good news Silver from Arcata, with cost way more than the current price to get metal out and would take a lot of investment to restart that is better off going into our better newer mines. I imagine the price is not very high but anything better than nothing and great the BOARD is now redirecting the company to the future, a future which we barely had three years ago.

Has the big correction begun, as posted it will take a few goes to get through the barrier of $3000 and we could get knocked back. Could take weeks or years. On another note have you noticed Mara Rosa hedge of half its production at around $2100/2200 for next three years, on good side forward PE they say is only 5.3!

It is pretty easy IF I have it right but do check. Your stockbroker should ask you to fill in a W-8Ben-e form if you hold US shares so you only get charged the 15% withholding tax by USA (the reduced one we also get charged in the ISA assuming we have filled in the form. There is no tax on the SIPP. Then when you do your self assessment the 15% is taken off what you owe so if you are a standard rate taxpayer there is no more to pay, if higher rate then 15% is taken off the 33.75 or 39.75 you owe in the UK. So my understanding is that a standard rate taxpayer pays 15% whether in an ISA pr trading account but 0% in the SIPP. I think that is right but I am not an advisor so check

Gnome I quite agree, pleasingbrsults and great divi news especially for us UK investors who love divis, just a shame we lose 15% to US taxman for those we hold in an ISA (for me half)
