Steve, the Anglo bid for Cey is now worth 210p so near doubled since before it. Hoc even better. I kept ¾ of my Cey in Anglo and bought more Hoc (as you did). I am now over 53% in Hoc with its meteoric rise and 26% in Anglo, a precarious if currently wonderful position. My plan is to reduce Hoc at 300 and a bit more if it passes multi year high around 320, of course it sadly may never happen but ever hopeful. Anglo seems a better hold as Peruvian politics just getting too dangerous again. I am as you may remember a holder rather than a trader like you and absurdly, ready for all this mayhem, 90% in PM miners, those two plus PAAS 6%, OMI 3% and FRES and EDV 1% each

Prof, wonderful you are still there, I wonder how Mr Tibbs is. He should have held on to Anglo which to my mind was a great deal, the Anglo share price is now £2.10 in Centamin terms so nearly golden flip flop time. Plus Hochschild has done even better as was more bombed out, so between them I have finally made back the cost of building the large modern house in Suffolk but life has moved on. My partner is Italian and we have inherited a fine and very manageable place on the Tuscan Umbrian border, where we plan to spend near half the year, I am now 72 and not the keen on a massive building project, and I have siblings who may get rather poor in th coming slump when debt comes home to roost and the hundred year cycle repeats. So lovely to have the paper profit for now and finally be proved right, let us see what comes next, I am hoping life may be longer than I think....but you and gnome may well be right on its brevity

I usually fill the ISA as the year starts, and have to say good timing to be able to fill this years ISA allowance at 239p even if Hoc falls further

Paul, in a tumbling market gold and miners at first fall as investors seek liquidity, the bigger question is what real rates do next and if/when gold turns back up, As posted I rashly bought more Hoc but probably too soon…

Oracle when the market tanks investors need liquidity so the knee jerk is to sell gold Let us hope it holds above $3000 but bid hang on to see smoke clear before plunging in

My isa funds were cleared at ii and I reinvested in ore Hoc which had come back a few per cent. In the trading account came in dollars so a couple of daysbtonisebtyebconverted money

Oracle, sorry I replied to you yesterday but as sometimes, it didn’t post. You are quite right. However as said once the hedges are gone and with the increased production I agree with your figures depending on POG when we get there in 2027

on the back of my *** packet£1 .4 billion now, which it has nearly reached, but if gold price holds this should rise as the hedges come off and ounces rise with new mines coming on stream. back in 2017 the value wasn’t so much lower as although gold was less than half the price aisc was much lower and ounces higher. the big difference then was that hochschild management had got it very wrong and not re-invested so mines were running out plus heavy political trouble. now it seems to be the opposite with new mines and rising ounces so i remain hopeful that if gold doesn’t fall back too much our price should rise and hopefully get to 300p. if so i shall finally take a bit profit. if but i just pointed out it has risen very far very fast and may take a breather now or hopefully nearer 300

Akka I first bought Hoc on the way up in 2017 at 270p, just as now it had risen from near 50p and went on to top around 320. Luckily, for once, I have been averaging down and down and then up so am well in profit getting back up here finally 8 years later. It now seems an open road to £3 when may take a while breaking through and I have thought for a long time worth taking some off the table as it does..

I don’t understand what you have lost. You have got a lot of money for postponing your sale, if you really wanted to invest elsewhere, where would have made more (with foresight), or you could have borrowed and made far more on the Anglo rise that the interest cost. Of course intensely annoying not to have your money, but would have been much worse if Anglo price had fallen, but lucky you….. compared to most Cey holders who sold and missed out on the near golden flip flops imho you are quids in

Somnamna half should buy you a bigger house. In Centamin price yesterday we breached £2. 6 months ago we were £1.20. Choosing when to sell is very hard, please do post when you do. Finally when in Cornwall I hope you find Mr Tibbs who like many, angry about the takeover, bailed out and has totally disappeared and worse missed out on the golden flip flops unless he reinvested in other miners. At the time I thanked Mr Horgan and I still do. I imagine results here should be great with the addition of Centamin.

Steve lovely to see you here. How are you doing with Hoc? Isn’t it fun. Well I didn’t sell at 250.5 this am and it has fallen a couple of percent since as expected but of course this pm is what counts. In my experience gold usually whips one way then proceeds in the other

Oracle I agree POG is very hard to predict just now. It has gone up so much it must be due a whopping correction…but…we have gone through hope,optimism and maybe we are now in belief, or even in thrill but I think nay hope exuberance is yet to come and when everyone starts talking about it is the time to leave. Let’s hope tomorrow isn’t the cause to correct tho may be healthy as long as not a top. Certainly not for Hoc, I remember last time it went up like this it hit around 320 tho of course we had Aclara then even if the shares are worthless to us and even cost us more than they are worth. How annoying, I forgot about the dividend despite noting the date, and of course the ever brilliant interactive investor paid them straight in as usual, so the day before yesterday, I intended to reinvest it in Hochschild which I did just now thanks to you alerting me, but sadly that had risen over 20% in two days, however as the dividend only added ⅓ of a % to my Hoc shareholding I should be pleased at the rise of the other 99 ⅔% which has been pretty stunning on much better figures that I expected and posted about - hence piling in and over 50% of my shares value now there. Most sadly we can't expect the same from THS nor near doubling of output over the next two years and fast rising metal prices, hence why reinvested in Hoc not here, though keeping my THS code holding. There are many similarities including a large family holding, and getting it wrong, but Hoc has really turned their ship around. maybe if we just exited Karo THS could do the same?
