There is definitely more too it, no way someone spends that much time talking down a company without some sort of agenda or anger behind it.

As I said (and asked) previously I would be genuinely interested to know what the full story is, I believe this would gain him more respect (certainly from me), but Porky appears to be reluctant to be upfront or honest about it, so I guess we may never know.

As it stands, without honesty and a hidden agenda, I have to question the motivations behind his posts and the merit of them because of this, this ultimately takes any real weight or meaning away from the content of any Porky post, which is a shame as I enjoy balanced debate and differing opinions.

I hold nothing against you whatsoever, but a simple few questions again, which I am sure you've seen (unless of course you have filtered me).

Why do you care?

What is your motivation?

What is your agenda?

What do you gain by talking down the company?

Just genuine interest and I would think your posts would hold more weight if you confirmed the above. As it stands they hold no weight as your motivation and intentions are being concealed (again just my opinion).

Porky, there has been a lot of ramping, no doubt about that, but anyone who believes that ramping alone can significantly affect a share price is kidding themself on. The effect any ramping or de-ramping has on the actual share price is very minimal.

I don't really go in for ramping or de-ramping myself, I do read all the posts, however I take both sides of the argument with a pinch of salt, as anyone should, at the end of the day these (in general) are only peoples individual opinions and beliefs, certain elements are based on facts, but at the end of the day we all make our decision, take our chances and have a bet on the outcome we believe to be most likely.

The intentions of the rampers are clear, there goals are clear and what they stand to gain is clear, so I have no issue with that, as I say you just take it with a pinch of salt. They can be "enthusiastic", but their motive is clear for all to see.

What is not so clear is your intention or ultimate goal and this is something I am genuinely interested in, are you hoping for a lower price to buy back in? Are you just angry (as we all are) about how things turned out last time? Do you have some kind of a bet on the price dropping? I just don't see what your motivation for spending so much time posting is?

After all that's what everyone else is doing just offering an opinion (at this stage anyway). I am confident that one day sooner or maybe very much later that this company will produce the goods and go on to be successful, otherwise I wouldn't be invested and I wouldn't be on this board.

So my question to you is, and it is out of genuine interest: Porky - if you are not invested, why do you care? Why bother sending messages to talk the company down? Why spend time on this board if you have no active interest in the company?

Can you let me know what this achieves or what you gain from this? (you don't strike me as the type to do it for the good of others or to save unwitting investors from making a mistake).

I thought the buying might slow today with people taking profit, some will have almost doubled their money, but it appears I was wrong and long may that continue!

Hopefully more and more people are buying to hold, like some of us have been for a long time!

I was just interested in your reasoning behind the drop to the £1.80s and your basis for that line of thinking, no issue if you don't have one or wish to keep it to yourself, all the best.

I hope you get the price you want to allow you to get back in.

I just believe it'll stay around where it is now, possibly close higher and then begin to rise again. Just my opinion though based on the results, wage rises, dividend maintained, etc.

Also, technically, as I negated to use decimal places, then £192.85 is still rounded to £1.93, so I will stick by what I said ;)

Even if it drops slightly further it's no big deal, it was just my opinion and a prediction.

You still haven't come back to me for the basis behind your £1.80 prediction?

In my opinion, there is not a chance of £1.80 (notwithstanding some kind of unforeseen major event), shares always drop on ex-div day, so no real shock there.

My prediction is that it will not drop below £1.93 and possibly will close higher than current position (£1.94). After which it will steadily rise again over the course of the next few weeks. I think what we are seeing now is a good value buying price and I would be purchasing more if I had the cash to do so.

I would be very interested to know the basis behind people predictions of such a large drop to £1.80? I am always interested in different opinions and the basis behind the predictions made.

Given they have only been in around October 2019, the share/ company has lived practically it's entire existence throughout a pandemic and subsequent fall out from that (apart from 6 months at the start), so to say it has a habit to "plunge" could also be said about almost every single other share on the market and I would say it has held far more steady than a number of others in the 100.

I don't see it dropping back to anywhere near £1.80, results were ok, dividend was maintained (uncertainty over which was one of the factors in the drop back) and they gave all staff a hefty pay rise a few months back. It has already dropped back a fair bit from where it was previously and is now in arguably a better place than it was previously. Back up to around £2.20 is where I see it going, with a move to £2.50 longer term if they get things right and other factors stabilise. Meantime it's a decent place to be to pick up the dividend and is one of the less risky shares out there.

All just my opinion of course, ups and downs very likely, but I don't see any major drop coming any time soon (notwithstanding a major incident)

I'm buying/ averaging down. It is a bit of a gamble yes, it could go lower yes, but long term it will come back and in the mean time you collect the dividend (likely reduced dividend, but dividend none the less). How low will it go? £5-£6 is certainly possible, but on the flip side it may not drop any lower than current levels, that's the gamble I guess. My thoughts are no lower than £8 and of course I am buying as I believe it may not go any lower than current levels. Let's see what happens with interest rates, as I think that, whilst there are several factors at play, this is the biggest one. Hopefully I have made the correct decision, but I have been wrong before and no doubt will be again. If you can afford to sit on it for the next 5 years if need be then it is still a sound investment, but I wouldn't throw cash in if you can't afford to leave it sitting. Best of luck.

The wage rises they have agreed with staff are substantial, so if there is money available to agree that, then perhaps the finances are in a better than expected place, they wouldn't be giving the rises they are otherwise in my opinion.

To be honest, I expected a bit of a jump in the price on that news, maybe to 11p or so.

Absolutely, just wish I had cash to buy more yesterday!

With a proposal for the majority of staff to get an approx. 8% pay rise and a one off payment of £500, there also must be money in the coffers! Ok pay rises have to be agreed, but they do not have to offer the one off payment of £500 and would not be doing so if it was not financially viable.

I expect the rise to continue throughout this year, of course there will be ups and downs on the way, but a decent rise is on the cards over the coming months.

Totally agree with your post Bladey, lets also not forget that Petrofac are experts in de-commissioning and there is money to be made in that field as well.

I still think they are a solid prospect mid-longer term, company looks solid and dividend appears safe (for now). I think the price is reasonable at the moment, never a certainty where the bottom is, but I still think it will be a lot higher than current levels by the middle of next year. We are sitting at only 2p higher than pandemic crash levels, which is crazy for a business that is still making profit and paying a dividend. Easy still worth £1.80/ £2 minimum in the not too distant future. All in my opinion of course :)

Very well summed up Archy, I was mulling over exactly that last night and this morning. I stand to gain about an extra £380 if I hold for the £2.06 (and include dividend), as you say I believe the risk of this falling through to be virtually zero, but there is always that risk and is it worth it to hold for such a small sum? I also agree with you that there is the potential to sell up and invest the money elsewhere with the hope of making more than I would if I held.

So in summary I think I will sell today and take the bird in the hand.
