M&G will reach £3 at some point in the not too distant future. Some of you will know, I have been around here for a while now and have always been a supporter of this share. I have said it before, but it is always worth repeating - M&G (as a listed entity) are still in their infancy - and true valuation is hard to gauge because of that and the following factors - if you look at their performance over the last 5 years, I think it is hard to argue with how the company has been managed, given the circumstances that they have navigate their way through. They were only floated literally months before the pandemic hit and the crash that ensued, prior to that the price was on the increase from an initial £2.25 to just sub £2.50 before the xxxx hit the fan. Since then their have been wars, tariffs, interest rate spikes, etc. and there has rarely been a settled period. My hope (and wish) as well as my expectation is that we will shortly be coming out of that unsettled period and the share will return to the £2.50 mark, if things continue to settle down and the various wars come to a conclusion, I see no reason we will not see £3 and beyond that who knows depending on the rest of the market in general. If dividend is maintained (which I believe it will be), even at a slightly lower percentage v share price, then this will continue to be attractive and the price will continue to rise. Share buy backs will help to reduce the dividend liability and also any increase in price will allow for a good dividend to remain (certainly for existing holders, but at a lower percentage. They paid out generous wage increases and bonuses last year to staff, that is not something a company with profit concerns does and shows confidence to me. All in all I think it is one of the safest shares with an excellent dividend to invest in currently (and I hold Lloyds, Barclays, etc. as well along with my house builder stocks). Will there be ups and downs? of course there will, that goes without saying, but as long as the longer term trajectory is upwards then, the "downs" are just an opportunity to buy more.
As always worth doing your own research and spreading your risk, but Good luck all and lets hope we see a continued rise.
