There is someone no popular in this place who claimed to have read the patents. I haven't but actually nano do held a series of them for "Resin & Film" so i think we have answer.

Damn.

And if they are using film, makes me happier that their R&D team can explore as far as their funding permits in regards tuning and other optimisation for devices independent of Stm.

No info on Nano site really, Don't even say what their registered trademark CFQD stands for, Colloidal Film QDs?

Pretty sure they have a photo somewhere of their production of of their 1st kg of Qd. In a bucket. That can't be the medium they use in transfer to a customer..

Wish there was more than 5 minutes of that Techblink video, not paying for the rest though.

Thinking of ramp up if we are lucky enought to see it happen, they surely can't do mass chip coating at runcorn, but they could do kgs of dots on film.

'Stable Reliable and consistent' is good. harking back to previous posts about STM/CEA research on new dots and dot combination research (Steckel/Weiss phd studentships via HortiQD) if they wanted to shut us out for an EU partner i think there is only Nexdot in France and they are even more of a start-up than Nano if that is possible.

Something i'm not clear on is how far NANO's R&D goes with dots. Do they test tune with specific devices to check efficacy of dot size and density on film or it it all to the spec of their partners who then do this testing? I'm hoping the former as it gives their a R&D more future, new dots, new combinations of dots on film etc

So the issue that caused the delay was an STM customer or is it customers - that sentence isn't easy on the eye:

'Nanoco and its lead partner hope to have more clarity on end-customers’ commercialisation pipelines by the time of the FY24 results in October.'

Down to Stm to drum up more customers then.

Kooba - Nano use the term delayed/delay 3 times in the RNS

If Nano announce a 2nd order in the first week of August we can all have a good laugh.

Disappointed to come home from work to this an RNS and over 150 messages. They use the word delay a lot, looks like nothing is dead to me. But as kooba said a long wait until a proper analysis with the full year results.

Imo there is no harm in messing about looking at devices that might have Nano product in them as long as the poster caveats with uncertainty. It's harmless, a legitimate use of message boards. Yeah it scratches an itch cos you've put your hard earned cash in the share but so what.

And i don't necessarily think VD55G1 will turn out to be one but so what. Stm bought a small order of dots for some purpose. Maybe it was for one customer? Who knows. There are very few consumer cameras with global shutters but quite a few supposedly due to launch this year and we can have fun speculating on those too.

Not sure Yole or Edison are going to tell me much that isn't after the fact.

Wild goose chase sorry. Unlike VD55G!1 the data sheet has the QE peak graphed in section 7.1, down to 30% by time it gets out to 900nm

Have you noticed that the impressive stated range on the platform 350 - 1050nm is expressed underwhelmingly as simply good at visible 850nm and NIR 940nm on their product page?

The science is beyond me but as i think has been mentioned before the December 2023 spec mentioned wavelength and QE.

I ma prepared to eat humble pie and apologise if SMt are using the word proprietary instead of QD. Those first gen dots have to have had gone somewhere

Also - not sure on the 2 year head start. We can't know what Steckel is up to with customers outside of the HortiQD project but we do know that since launching QD enhanced SWIR sensing concept in 2021 he has been looking for customers to work with at scale. HortiQD guarantees him devices with his tech in them. I am still hopeful the new Grenoble dot is within our JDA and was built (quickly) upon Nano's guidance - they did within 6 months what Nathalie took a year to do.

An EU funded project might have decided it needed to have it's own IP. If end up manuf them under license so be it. But a bit embarrasing for the world leader I guess.
