Here's a BT para from the 2023 FY annual report (page 12). Pretty clear the first low volume orders were meant for a specific customer who has failed to launch in 2024. Yeah I agree a reason might be to do with 1st gen but is also possible that the delay is for some other and unrelated problem in the supply chain. If, for instance it was a new global shutter camera well we've still only got the Sony A9 III and some cine camera's by the Nikkon owned RED,. Most of the other oems have been threatening to launch for years, in Canon's case over ten years.
