What can they possibly burning so much extra cash on? They were forecast to get through 6m of the 8 they had at July 2023 and should still have about 9m from the 90MUSD/70MGBP in addition to the 20 edision says they will have at july 2024. If you allow 2M for for fab and other capex what happened to other 9?

Litigation costs unmet by the first tranche? I know sod all about tax but surely with many years of losses it can't be that.

They could have allocated it to something for the future (an acquisition, facilities for production ramp up, luxury pension scheme) but it would still count as cash.

Slightly funny story while watching my barc shares climb i ran a screener on small caps and got nano in my net cos of its misleading p/e. I discarded and looked at 3 but couldn't see growth that would exceed barc in 5 years. So, cos i didn't understand what nano produced i read some rns's not the edison. I saw funded for 3 years, high risk but potentially high growth and figured i could get out with a flesh wound inside 3 if needed.

No K, I don't think it;s ok to be misled but yes i'm fairly cynical. I think BT was your typical AIM style ceo and wasn't a main listing type of guy and he ran nano like an aim co, which as troublesome say meant lots of blarney and 2nd rate ceo patois.

That doesn't mean i don't think they have a last chance with STM. It;s very high risk, if that is gone then nano is probably gone as is my money.

Oct 23 Fy has end of year cash at 8m but cash burn up to 500k per month, so it was never going to make CY 2025 but it's the type of crap companies say to get placings away.

Think we've run the numbers before, 70m gbp after 33m and 3m back plus debt cancelled leaves 29m. They should have had 2m the 8m left at July 2023, so 31m with fab cost to deduct leaves them having to explain 9-11M if cash left is 20M

Is there anything to support Hamoodis arguements in the legal case that Nano had at first received derisory offers from Samsung and were always minded to settle or is that all him? Even if it is all him, seems to suggest that it was never going to court. 'Cash runway' not long enough to take the risk of failing. Don't think nano ever went away to value its patents.

Probably started at 70m to close case and give us all your patents before closing out at 150m and related patents.

Btw someone posting here wanting to sue nano for not winning a billion was arguing back in Jan 2023 that they had got in at 10p, so they want to sue for losing no money. Ok, had my say unleash troublsome and his lad.

Guess or hope this will all be redundant once there is a new ceo. I haven't read all the edison and all the RNS on this matter and am not going to.

From what everyone else has posted i read that Nano puffed up expectations which some argue is misleading and others argue is business strategy. Somewhere in the mix they needed more funding and the expected settlement was used to boost a placing. They also took a loan.

Then nano accepts a lower than anticipated offer rather than go to a jury trial. The low offer and the additional patents was unexpected by shareholders and contrary to the confident noises the company had been making (which is either misleading or business strategy to big up yourself). Presumably this was advised and not down to lack of fibre in the ceo. I assume they published or someone has leaked a summary of this advice. I haven't read that either.

Then there is the subject of investing in high risk penny shares for 10x spectacular returns. Point is they're high risk. And buying higher than the share price is now isn't much fun (i know that feeling).

I'm left thinking that the advice they got on the offer was that they really should take it but realise i'm in the minority.

Wonder what their ceo search strategy is. A focus on the immediate opportunity means poaching from STM, anything else could still be a feel good appt from ARM or Imagination Technologies. Or outside of the UK - Arrow, Broadcom etc. Samsung ha ha for the jokes. Wonder of Steckel fancies a secondment, 650k might cover most of his visiting prof type salary at Grenoble.

Anyone know if their CTO Cong-Duan Vo was previously at Nano? His bio has this "Prior to joining QS, he was the team leader of surface chemistry and product chemistry groups at a leading LSE listed nanotechnology company."
