The most recent member of the molecular seeding family of patents is good until 2038. Whatever variation samsung have is a paid up licence. I'm waiting for the october fy to dispel my thought that this won't be in any trading business ip sale as anything more than a paid up license.

Yeah, see all that. But the wording in the rns should be new shares or cash following any sale of the trading business.

Payment in shares explanation if plan is to wind up company if trading business goes are so convoluted it took you a number of posts to articulate an argument as to why they would do it that way. You could be right but it don't look right.

It is odd to issue shares in a company about to be wound up don't you think.

Why pay the NEDs out in shares after the sale of the trading business, why not from the proceeds of cancelling those shares. Also, the trading business is sensors and the litigation/licensing potential focuses entirely on display. Going to stop re-reading this rns now.

Remaining co concentrates on licensing/ litigation

I think Kooba is saying they can't do both. I suggested the definition of IP might be paid up licences. But i'm no expert and the company has not defined what it means in the RNS by IP. It doesn't use the word patent once .

Wolves and 20p - With a reduced cash burn they don't need to sell, so why are they keen to? I'm guess k thinks Milkwood but it could as easily be the cto has had enough. Really hard to value what they are selling without a definition over what the IP is that goes with the trading business but this isn't a forced sale, so it could be as k suggested some sort of elaborate bluff.

The rns says they will layout plans to return cash in the october fy - have to wait until then to learn more.

It's sort of like saying to a buyer well you can't truly own the IP for molecular seeding cos Samsung have a fully paid up license for that so let's have a chat about this and a few other things.

There is an argument for having nano do the paid police work if the buyer is not interested in doing it.

You mean sole ownership of the IP. Do Samsung have that? What they got was an iteration of where Nano was at that time in display. Agree it take some pitching but they are trying to sell legitimate production of QDs in display and sensors - a one time offer to any potential competitor to Samsung presumably with plenty of after care and the supposed 'trade secrets'. Those outside of samsung and any potential buyer get sued. It's an interesting idea.

Agree any serious buyer is just going to say ok and how much for the whole thing.

Much of that returned to shareholders and all done before July 2025. Hopefully the US agency give a copy of sales details to every infringer on Nano's list so they can't say they weren't warned.

Remaining business litigation and licensing - so how long can it take slices of that for? Do they want to do anything else with the nano listing, they don't mention it. Op overheads post July 2025 minimal, no Runcorn presumably, small mgt team Dr P and how many scientists for tear downs and analysis. What could we say 1.5m costs per year?

Disappointed they did'nt have the risk appetite to go for the short term opportunities. My reading of the RNS is the co is going to remain as a listed business funded by litigation wins and licence income. It plans to sell the 'trading' business and IP. Simple if you read it properly.

Some famous investor type said something about being greedy when others are fearful. At this point with 20 months funds even without any additional revenues, it remains conceivable that both Cable and Milkwood are seeing this as a value play. All the oems Nano have worked with, obviously only Samsumg went on to do something with QD, the others didn't. Nano need to be signing deals this side of xmas imo.

You have a lot of faith in the narrative you have written so far. Probably a few weeks/months to early to be so confident on who is being deluded.

Even if they have cable car onside and allowing for the fact that hardly any of us will vote, Milkwood will probably need more than 6% and nano's buyback is making that harder for them.

A few weeks until the FY now. Buyback should be finished and If they just bs on short term prospects then i guess the sp will soften and give milkwood a chance to scoop more up. Obviously i'd like to see some real news in the FY. After working with stm for years their photodetector should be state of the art and known by many oems. I'd like to see a tie up with Emberion or Imec (might explain the 2k from Belgium in the interims if it wasn't Qustomdot) and for things to be happening within 6 months. Nanonano shared a DSIT funding package for semi-conductors in UK worth 11M. Quantum Solutions got 1.1m to work on SWIR sensors with Cambridge Uni - yeah it peanuts if over 2 years and between them but the bigger point is NANO already have a swir sensor, be nice to sell some.

As you've said, if you are right, it will become known fairly soon. Personally i think they just bought in cheap.

Problem with thinking this is anything other than a value play is the founder, his scientists and their 'trade secrets'. They are not typical assets to be squeezed or bullied.
