I'd fully agree if this was the 1st time they'd out themselves up for sale and if it hadn't arisen from a strategic review following 1 event - the collapse of the stm jda. Events since might change things.

'better progress the business' implies a deal that keeps the team together. Yeah they could get that to an extent if a chem co with no qd expertise bought them but they don't get to steer the business. They could get that from a private equity buyer too. Latter more likely for for keeping nano together. But the LG suit has upped the price in the minds of shareholders.

Best result is LG looking like they will fold. Shoei have to buy or lose their market and the great future they were probably anticipating. If Shoehi bid their price would be notional rewards from LG settlement + Nano IP and enterprise value. They just need to cheer the f up and see the potential in sensing.

I don't see any pressure to take a 'fire-sale' price. If any bids don't get Dr P semi-retired to Tuscany then they take a pass. Minor production runs 2026, major in 2027 and if LG settle the asian oem display market is open at last.

I remember reading about the acquisition of nanosys last year and being surprised that nanoco had been erased from history in the section where the samsung/nanosys relationship is discussed.

Shoehi is a private co whose estimated annual revenues where in excess of 450M USD in the year of acquisition.

LG is in a difficult position i think. It will have the 4 nanoco patents in front of them, will they have seen anything other than strong denials from Nanosys at the point of refusing to take a nanoco license? Not like the samsung case. Nanosys are just one of many suppliers to LG.

Said yesterday that it was Nanosys/ Shoei chemicals. I think it was Nanonano who proposed LG as apples lcd supplier.

And, again it sets up a great nanoco patent v nanosys patent battle. If nanosys aren't covered for molecular seeding their credibility will be gone and it will be shot for anyone else they work with: Sharp, TPV Phillips etc

And of course every other oem taking QDs from nanosys will have to take the letters from nanoco a bit more seriously.

Agree on QD in Apple laptops bringing things to head. Strong rumour is that Nanosys (Shoehi Chemical) are the supplier. So Nanoco patents vs Nanosys patents with LG getting increasingly concerned about whether the latter really cover molecular seeding. If LG fold and take a license (and i think it is about this and not particularly huge damages) then Nanosys lose credibility and probably their jobs. It's a smart move and would make nano front and centre in display outside of samsung.

As to the bigger game beneath, should encourage expressions of interest in the bidding round.

I'd use different words K. Tradeable info usually leaks and the sp has usually already reacted prior to formal release of info. Sometimes it doesn't leak though, otherwise we wouldn't have crazy falls and rises in one day. K - not so long ago you were saying something very similar about a daily seller since january. It is possible to get dispensation for very long delays before reporting trades. I'm guessing you are out of nano at the moment, would explain the low valuations when you know they won't sell at that sort of price?

Milkwood walked the sp down from mid-teens to where we are now. Their engagement with shareholders was nil.

2nd JDA and about 10 customers in the pipeline were advances for me. The initial 'engagements' on display and 'micro-display' could be anything and anyone, could be China and Meta/Plessey respectively, who knows? ) Hate the lack of naming of companies that goes with the territory. No short term opportunities to increase cash though Edison think commercial production revenue 2026 - likely to be small if its the small-scale image sensor customers. Upbeat and busy, explains staff recruitment but no real increase in revenue until next year. Lead dots retired, wonder if the set up for volume production of next gen dots is an additional cost. Liked the mention of QD paint, there is a company doing that...

Also says not a fire sale. Personally i think the idea was to get as much on the order book to make those data room visits meaningful in terms of bid size. And i'm still thinking that if nanoco sells it will be closer to 100 mill than it will be to 60.
