Just watching Bloomberg and the White House economic advisor dropped a big hint that there will be an announcement on European tariffs coming soon. I’ve signed up to Truth social just to keep up to speed with the tweets 😂

Some interesting points below. Picking up on Loot’s comment about being ideal for private equity, there has already been heavy institutional investment in Itaconix with the fund raises. I know that’s not the same as running the company but presumably they must see something enticing about Itaconix’s future prospects. What I don’t understand is given that most of the shares are tied up with these institutional investors how is it the share price falls down so hard in between trading updates? I do think there is something wrong with the structure of the share allocation to allow this happen time after time. This favours ‘day’ traders and not long term investors.

I’ve got cash sat on the side ready to invest but I daren’t add more at the moment whilst the price is sliding. I’d prefer to catch a rising tide than try and catch a falling knife.

I’m encouraged that there are investors like Loot still out there monitoring Itaconix as that must show a willingness to invest again if the tide changes.

Looking at both the 5 year and 1 year share price graph is depressing. I agree with other LTHs that there appears to be a serious mismatch between the enormous company progress and the share price. The question I am scratching my head to answer is why! Is it a result of previous fund raises which led to share dilution or something else we are missing?

Top slicing is usually healthy practice but I am holding every single share. I will continue adding as I think the current share price is very attractive for where I believe it will be by the end of the year. I’m forecasting 2 - 3 x by year end, based on what’s planned for both Stereax and Golliath. The fact Ilika has 2 cutting edge product ranges to its business makes it so attractive. Success in either would lead to massive share price growth. But I am highly confident in both products. There is now good momentum in share price and volumes will increase as word spreads both in the U.K. and around the world. The listing on OTCQX market is a massive advantage as the Americans appreciate innovative tech stocks more.

I think I will wait before adding more shares as I’m already 15p a share down on the ones I bought just the other week!

We’ve seen how low this can go when it’s quiet. It’s not just the lack of news, it’s also the lack of buyers. When you look at the numbers of shares traded per day it is so miniscule compared to other AIM listed companies.

I’ve also followed Ilika for many years and dipped in and out but now I am firmly investing for the long term. Yesterday was a good example of an unexpected RNS lifting the price considerably so not worth the risk of trading in and out IMO.

Hairybison is absolutely correct saying Ilika will be getting a lot of coverage through their partnership with Cirtec who are a massive and growing player in the US.

Ilika was always Luke Lango’s top pick for 10x returns a few years ago. He just got the timing wrong. The company is now at the confluence of their 2 projects yeilding spectacular results at the same time. Stereax will start pulling in revenue via the Cirtec partnership and the Golliath SSB is likely to see at least 1 commercial deal this year, especially on the back of yesterday’s game changing announcement.

I think the broker target price of 85p is conservative. I expect to see that by the end of 2025. Next year who knows how high this will be if they continue to expertly execute their plan.

Agree definitely a question for April.

In the meantime we just have to let this tariff dance with China and the EU play out over the next few weeks. Thankfully UK seems unaffected at present but I don’t know what portion of Itx sales to Europe go to UK as opposed to the EU.

On the bright side, once the dust settles, this may present a very good buying opportunity in the second half of March before the anticipated April trading update.

Great interview. GP stressing how easy it is for Ilika’s technology to be adopted in existing facilities which opens so many doors!

When asked what was next, GP summed it up well saying they are preparing this technology for full commercialisation. News of this will spread fast!

Ilika (IKA): CORP Successful giga-scale demonstration for Goliath Ilika has announced that its collaboration with the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) has successfully demonstrated the ability to scale key steps in the manufacturing of its Goliath battery. This took place in a giga-scale factory setting, using industry standard equipment, and is another positive validation point for potential licensees. We believe this ability to produce SSBs using industry standard equipment puts Ilika in a unique position compared to its closest comparables (QuantumScape, ProLogium and Solid Power amongst others) as these look to require specialist production equipment and or materials handling. We believe this additional differentiator and proof point is another key milestone towards a significant value changing event for Ilika with a major corporate that needs SSB technology.

It is impressive how Ilika are executing their plan with ruthless efficiency whilst stringently controlling spend. I see much bigger jumps in price coming this year on the back of a) Stereax sales and b) commercial partnerships being announced with the Goliath battery later this year when the next iteration of prototypes are delivered. I expect both to happen but either one will lead to a re-rating IMO. Please DYOR.

Another week another massive Expo for Ilika to showcase and market Stereax. The largest section is MedTech with Elite Medtech companies showcasing innovations in cardiovascular care, medical device manufacturing, general healthcare and more.

Today’s 10% China tariff is actually far better than expected. During his election campaign Trump talked about a 60% tariff on China. Also China’s response has been fairly tame and makes me believe they will reach a deal rather than escalate. Also Itaconix has tons of raw material to weather this negotiation period.

The potential area that worries me is a tariff war with Europe as this is the area Itaconix saw greatest sales growth in last year and predicted for this year. The BBC showed a graphic last night illustrating the massive trading gap between USA and Europe and I’m not sure how that one gets resolved. Mexico and China had to send 10,000 troops to the border and commit 100s of millions of $ to get a 30 day stay on tariffs. What is it that Trump wants out of Europe?

Meanwhile you have Elon Musk meddling in European politics trying to drive a right wing agenda. The 2 European power houses of France and Germany are already teetering economically and politically. Macron is a hothead who may fight back but it’s a fight he will loose so Europe needs to comply and not retaliate or it could be disastrous. Fascinating times we live in!

Well I must admit I was hoping for a slightly bigger dip today than what we got, but I’ve just added another 5,000 shares to top up what is now my largest share holding. Will keep adding whilst the price is under 30p which may not be long.

Dude that’s not something you should joke about.

Whatever tariffs the US imposes on the EU they just need to accept them and NOT introduce retaliatory tariffs on US goods coming into the EU. Otherwise things will quickly escalate further. This is a fight the EU can’t win. It may be bullying, but this is exactly how the EU used its power in the past against Greece and the U.K.

Does anyone know if ITX will benefit from a strong dollar? That’s where the money will be heading tomorrow!

Thankfully China has not retaliated and has instead given a very measured response to say it will go through the WTO.

From Itaconix’s perspective it’s not just any increase on raw materials. It is also the increase in energy costs as the north east of USA gets most of its energy from Canada.

The measures take effect at 12.01 am on Tuesday and it’s unclear if that offers a last-chance window for a deal.

Sorry, make that 10% royalties. In a few years Ilika will be receiving circa $50m per annum from Stereax in the USA alone. Not a bad side line to have whilst the bigger Goliath battery progresses towards commercialisation.
