Doubt you’ll need to wait 6 months!

My wife is a social worker for a large mental Health provider. All staff received an email today titled “holidays and travel” giving them the good news that the quarantine period is not required for ‘registered healthcare workers’ e.g Doctors, Social Workers, Nurses, OT’s. Doesn’t solve the essential travel advice I suppose but certainly encourages staff to book holidays. My wife is currently deciding where to book! lol

Given market sensitivity to any evidence of a second wave it seems to be an ideal opportunity to make some serious money. Reason being that I believe there are going to be second wave scares on a regular basis over the next few weeks. So should be lots of opportunities to buy low sell high! £££

Progress though this could have been worked out by a primary school student weeks ago. They are just so slow to act and wonder why the airliners are having to lay off jobs!

Reckon any second wave would be a damp squib. Look at all the doctors reports coming out of Italy detailing how the virus has significantly weakened over the past 2 months. Here in the U.K. 80% of people who now test positive have no synptoms. Deadly viruses die out quickly because they kill the host. Weaker versions spread because they don’t and are much less harmful.

Hopefully follow the lead of the American airliners. My guess is up 5%

Is anyone worried about the threat to remove Heathrow landing slots? Is that just a toothless threat given the sad state of the aviation industry? Government clearing trying to play good cop despite the fact that they are responsible for much of the mess we are now in. 7 - 10 days late into lock down and now we are worst in Europe and knee jerk reactions from the govt because they know they ****ed up

Good news: The MPs' report also urged the government to abandon its 14-day quarantine rule at the end of June. It called for a "more targeted and nuanced border control policy", allowing people travelling from countries where the infection rate of Covid-19 is relatively low to enter the UK on a less restrictive basis.

Bad news: Tory MP Huw Merriman, who chairs the committee, said: "We will continue to bring pressure where we can, including the airport slot allocation process. This wanton destruction of a loyal workforce cannot appear to go without sanction by government.

You probably know more than the govt! No wonder BA, RYA and EZJ are taking them to court. I fear the wheels are moving slowly!

The transport secretary said we “will” be talking to other countries. Beggars the question what on Earth have they been doing the past fortnight?!

When travel returns to pre-covid levels and assuming the restructuring is completed fully I would estimate £10. I know after this week that may sound wild but amongst the doom and gloom there was the announcement that 80% of people who tested positive didn’t have any symptoms. In other words the virus must be weakening and IMO it will die out naturally or become so mild that the upcoming vaccines won’t even be needed in a years time.

Most of us here bought in after the March fall. Imagine how you’d be feeling now if you bought in at 650p! I was briefly tempted to sell out but then I remembered why I bought IAG - because it will survive - it will radically restructure and it will compete with the likes of Ryanair for cost efficiency. Imagine a P/E ratio on par with RyanAir and EasyJet!

Hopefully the unions and moaning ministers will finally realise that IAG’s plans are pretty reasonable. Unions need to get off their backsides and help IAG.

Totally agree! This stock market can whipsaw at any moment. This week we are on the painful end but look forward to being on the receiving end shortly. There’s a lot of big boys benefiting from the surges and sell offs so this won’t stay down for long!

1. The virus is weakening. The rate of hospitalisation of patients with covid-19 has significantly reduced. Therefore IF there is a second wave it will be much weaker.
2. The govt have already agreed air bridges it’s not IF but WHEN!
3. The majority of people are well past the fear stage and are desperate for a holiday.
4. As fast as the market turns negative it also turns positive. This will switch soon and when it does it will rise fast.

Markets have purposefully had a bit of a sell off prior to the Fed announcement later today as they want the Fed to keep pumping money in. Expecting good news later and then back to a Bull market
