According to Sunday Times Boris Johnson has told Grant Shapps, the transport secretary, to secure “travel corridor” deals with holiday hotspots by June 28

That’s gonna be a hard one to justify back home. Also clearly picking and choosing when it’s IAG or BA or Iberia. However sounds like a cracking deal!

Sunday Times is reporting that the govt is looking at another “cash for clunkers” car scrappage scheme. Am hoping I can top up again Monday morning before the SP shifts again

Portland looking through the RN the 2 statements I pull out are:
- The Group continues to enjoy the benefits of a strong property portfolio with an adjusted net book value of £325m (as at 31 December 2019) (83.3p per share).
- The Group currently holds surplus freehold properties for disposal during the remainder of 2020 and 2021, with a net book value of £30m as at 31 December 2019.

Given the current SP is just 31p it does seem incredibly cheap. The SP over the past 5 years seems to reflect the state of the car industry rather than the value of the business and now seems very over sold. I also felt like the RN was positioning the company. It has already turned down one merger offer but maybe it has its sights set on something much higher?

Portland take a look at Lookers! IMO their stock valuation is a bargain and I believe it could double! 5 reasons why I’m so confident:
1. Last month they turned down a merger because they didn’t need it.
2. Their restructuring plan announced this week which saves £50M is far from draconian. Another sign of confidence.
3. Over the past year their directors have been buying up shares
4. They have oodles of capital in their estate
5. With the decline of public transport people need cars more than ever!

Just bought in. Thought I’d missed the boat when the very positive trading update was released. There’s going to be plenty of market volatility these next 12 months which will give massive trade flows IMO. Apart from the obvious current situation we’ve got the USA election coming up.

Wonder how high this will get when quarantine restrictions are lifted or travel corridors are introduced in a couple of weeks time. So pleased I held this share. Great company - looks after its customers better than any travel company and I’m confident their loyalty will see booking surge in the second half of this year

IMO TW represent better value than Persimmons and I was very encouraged at TWs trading update. Psychologically people are gonna pick new builds over properties people have lived in and more importantly No Chain to worry about.
PS - I just took a look at IGG and have just bought in. Plenty of volatility to come over the next 12 months so should be bumper year for them!

I bought in at 25p and 30p and am expecting to double my money this year

Given we’ve had £7 in the not too distant past IMHO I believe this could get to £10 within 2 years if covid is resolved and the restructuring is successful. Imagine an IAG as lean as Ryanair and EasyJet, and it’s not that crazy a valuation at all!

Bricks totally agree with your opinion and even considering topping up my existing holding at this price as expect this to hit 400 when quarantine eased IMO

The announcement by the uk govt is more significant than many realise. It’s the first step to the govt being able to get itself out of the quarantine hole and more importantly it will give travellers increased confidence to travel.

Just seen a leaked schedule of the Premiership matches commencing in 13 days time. Literally wall to wall coverage include some free to air matches. Expect betting to go through the roof in June and July
