Expect SP to hover around 160 until the government update tomorrow afternoon. depending on how far they go will determine whether we get a rebound or further fall

IF RR do decide to pursue a RI to then I hope they handle it better than IAG did! If they secure the additional finance in the right way then could actually be a positive impact on the SP. Get it wrong and I dread to think!

Whilst there may be many people unhappy that WAM has called this right I would just say don’t shoot the messenger. I took his advice and sold out a while ago still making a loss but it could have been much worse. IMHO I feel WAM is simply trying to stop people loosing money on this share and feel some of the abuse he has received is totally unjustified. I will be buying back into IAG when WAM gives the green light.

The markets knew this was coming hence the sell off last week but no doubt this will knock another 5% off tomorrow. Should have seen this coming after IAG :-(

Castle I totally agree. IAG and the rest of the travel sector can not afford another year like this year and agree a second rights issue or similar is likely if they have another 6 months like this which appears very likely. But what if 2021 is a repeat of 2020??

Today’s news that the world will only be able to vaccinate one in ten of the worlds population in the first year the vaccine is available really puts into context the likely recovery time for the travel sector.

That all this talk about markets being forward looking is total bull and why it is way too early to be buying IAG. Hopefully this will start rising in the New Year and when that happens there should be some serious money to be made. Until then the shorters will be the only winners

This is one of the reasons I have recently bought in. Without a doubt there are foreign investors out there who would love to get their hands on RR. This will only drop so low before someone makes a move IMO

All depends on your timeframe. If you’re wanting a quick return sell and reinvest elsewhere. If you’re looking longer term then hold or add. It’s ridiculous to think the airline industry will never return to pre-Covid levels when the global population continues to expand at a rate of knots but it will take a couple of years. For those willing to be patient IMO you will double or treble your money.

Can see this share attracting a lot of positive interest over the coming weeks. Good times ahead IMO

Treacle I do not have a short. I am not a trader and do not believe in shorting shares I personally think that practice is ethically wrong.

I was of the belief that the mortality rate has fallen significantly due to the virus becoming far less potent. Usually the greater the transmission rate the lower the mortality rate. However, I found out today that our local ICU is full to overflowing and they have had to use theatres to support patients. I’m therefore worried now that the mortality rate will increase as the weather starts to turn in the same way that respiratory admissions go through the roof over winter

Definitely some manipulation going on today to get the SP low and then cash in on the rebound. Seen similar trends in IAG recently.

It’s true flying demand will remain weak over the winter however the story no-one in the media or government dares focus on is the reality that the mortality rate of the virus has plummeted. Wait till the weather turns wetter and colder. Similar to the common flu in that respect. Impact will always be much greater during the winter months unfortunately
