just google italian pathologists covd 19 and you get all sorts of interesting articles. Apparently they are starting to find that Covid resembles pulmonary thrombosis more than pneumonia. No point using trying to ventilate a lung when the blood is not flowing.
I have for the last few years been taking a dietary supplement which assists bloodflow. Very happy now that I am!

Apparently Italian pathologists are begining to report that Covid in fact does not resemble pneumonia but in fact pulmonary thrombosis caused by inflammation triggered by Covid.
Thats why apparently ventilators are such blunt instruments. If you ventilate a lung when the blood is not circulating that doesn't help.
I'm not naive enough to believe that the Board of PXS will turn it into the next Covid stock or that the share price will neccesarily do anything else rather than sleepily slumber.
But I am even more happy to be taking my magic pills (tragically still a secret from the general population)

It's true that some negative comments re BMN were made but imo mostly by twits out to disrupt the AVACTA board. They have since been squashed. Apologies.

100% agree with your sentiments. A little surprised at some of the avatars that have been ****ging off the Bmn boys whise references have been entirely in context. Can’t help thinking a few mischief makers have jumped on the bandwagon. Of course there is no problem with mentioning other shares on any BB.
Lets face it how did most of us come across AVACTA?

What is happening in the world is bringing our risk averse culture to reality with a resounding thump.
Some of us are comfortable addressing acknowledging risk and acknowledging it.
Others would prefer still to hear no evil speak no evil.
A few of us are prone to catastrophisation so that whenever a possible unfavourable outcome however crazy or unlikely is presented they will obsess about the possibility, decide that if that does happen it will be a disaster and be paralysed by fear. It goes without saying that those afflicted with this cognitive disorder are not well suited to investing direct in the stock market.
On the other end of the spectrum are those who enjoy taking risks for risks sake (the mountaineers the SAS members).
Sometimes such characters when they invest come to grief but if they stiil retain a money pot then time and time again they will try and reach for the stars.
I don't see any harm in knowing yourself deciding where on the spectrum you fall and investing accordingly.
BUT One thing mountaineers and SAS members have in common is a high level of research and preparation.
Without these whatever your risk appetite you will fail and you will deserve to all imo

One thing that does intrigue me about viral loads is that I understand that the current PCR test may not detect infection in the early days before viral load has built up sufficiently.
I wondere whether antigens may be available right from the start and that this may be a further benefit of antigen testing. Haven't a clue though

Re the Viral Load in saliva at www.medrix.org there is a paper which appears to have been published by a large amount of American physicians entitled
"Saliva is more sensitive for SARS-COv-2 DETECTION IN covid-19 patients than nasopharyngeal swabs"
It was found that saliva yielded greater detection sensitivity and consistency throughout the course of the infection and furthermore there was less variability in a self sample collection of saliva.
I leave others to judge the relevance of the above

I'm sure one or two of our resident medics could help out here but it seems to me from my laymans reading of various articles that most if not all of the other companies (apart from the Aptamer one with a nod to Lost in Space) who are developing antigen tests are using antibodies (which have sensitivity problems) to detect the antigens. Affimers have the advantage so the theory goes of being much smaller than antibodies much better at penetrating tissue and therefor tests involving affimers you would expect to be more sensitive)
As ever I'm open to correction.

However my suspicion is that the MM's have been in control of a very high volume market over the last few days with the aid of our seller. Who knows what will happen first thing Monday. Of course if we were all convinced it would fall first thing each day we would all sell last thing the previous day. Then we all know what would actually happen next day lol

they could also just as easily raise the price to encourage a market. Or keep it the same on the assumption that our regular seller isn't quite finished yet.
In my experience MM tactics are like the Spanish Inquisition...... No one expects them. Or at least I rarely do. My trading history attests to that.

Some of the experts on the government briefings have been saying its too early to compare and judge. Maybe in a years time. My first gut feeling was that they were being political but then you hear folk like Professor Johan Gieseke who wrote in the Lancet on may 5.
He advises the Swedish Government. He thinks that in a years time roughly the same proportion of folk in most countries will have been infected regardless of what measures lockdown or otherwise had been taken.
He thinks that policies to stamp out the virus are likely to be ultimately futile and we should concentrate instead on caring for those most in need.

Great advice Ken and could I add perhaps one rule which I have often broken to my detriment (and am probably in danger of breaking again here), "Never fall in love with a share". It is not your spouse to be defended against the world no matter what. One day whether next week or in 10 years time you will sell it. Symptoms imo are
feeling threatened by posting which varies with your own assumptions and
automatically discounting folks raising doubts without understanding where they are coming from and fully considering their position,
not (in a covid context) researching as much as possible the journeys of the other main players to give our own journey context.
investing more than your own comfort level dictates so that you loose sleep at night.
None of the above btw is likely to stop me over the next few weeks ramping this share to high heaven lol

No one else has affimers to bind to the proteins lost in space. The others mentioned will probably be using antibodies for the purpose. Affimers win on specificity and sensutivity. Being smaller than antibodies they can penetrate tissue more easily apparently. I’m not a medic but voraciously consume articles . Happy to be corrected be experts

I think sometimes folks talk about the merits of antibody versus antigen tests when they really are talking about anti body v PCR based tests. Or to be incredibly simplistic ODX v NCYT.
What we have of course is neither. We don't try to detect either antibodies or traces of the virus itself.
We will be finding antigens (particular proteins on the outside of the virus).
No one has yet commercialised such a test.
But at a recent White House press briefing Dr Deborah Birx (the lady who who looked so uncomfortable as Trump expounded his disinfectant theories) commented as follows
"There will never be the ability on a nucleic acid test to do 300 million tests a day or to test everybody before they go to work or to school but there might be with an antigen test"
300 million tests a day?

there's one disruptor but imo those that engage with him are worse (and may also be him)

I see prof Giesecke who advises WHO is involved in guiding the Swedish response and wrote an article in the Lancet on the 5th May is of the opinion that in a years time most of the population in most will have been infected with the virus regardless of lockdowns or other strategies. He says that an emphasis on stopping the virus will be futile. Our emphasis should be on providing best care for those most seriously affected.
It made me ponder.
What good has our lockdown done for those of our most vulnerable citizens in care homes?
