It's gonna be yet another budget of (unnecessary) tax and gloom and doom and misery and talking down the country. The UK hasn't really seen a sustained run of upbeat budgets since the 1980s.

Britain needs a cultural revolution, to stop this national mindset of nonstop tax. Every day, there's yet another story about a new tax on the way. Last week was ISA tax, this week is income tax, the week after will be yet more council tax and car tax. It has to stop. The country is drowning in tax. If Farage wants to win in 2029, he's got to start talking about tax cuts (nearer the election). Take tax back to 1990s levels. Give the people their money back.

US has stopped 2 wars in the Middle East, made Europe spend a trillion on defence, taken back control of the Panama Canal, and he's only been in office 6 weeks. Truly remarkable.

Actions speak louder than words 👍 Giving up the Panama Canal, within weeks of Trump opening his mouth and saying just a couple of sentences, shows how incredibly powerful Trump remains, and how weak China really is.

Meatly has cut the cost of cell media by -99.9% in 2 years. This shows the lightning-fast progress the firm is making. Looks like they can get chicken to £1 per kg by 2028-2029. The global chicken market today is a $300b opportunity. The prize is huge.

If Meatly were listed in New York, I reckon it'd already be a $1b valuation by now. It's one of the most innovative tech and food-science companies in the world. Shame British investors can never fully see, understand, or promote the future monetization opportunities right in front of their nose.

Trump hasn't started a single war in his 1st or 2nd term. In fact, he's ended 2 wars just in the past month. Trump is a force for peace.

If Farage truly wants to reform the UK, he'll need to cut the bloated state by 20-30%, like Musk is doing in the US, and like Cummings tried to do with the Blob. Farage can then cut tax by 20-30%, and give the people some of their money back.

When India sticks +100% tariffs on US (and UK) cars, you can't really expect the US to stand by and accept it. YouTube is completely banned in China, while TikTok has unlimited free access to the US. You can't expect the wild imbalance to continue. Anyone here who exports will have seen the imbalance with their own eyes for decades. Trump is 100% right to address it, and stop it.

Yeah, the markets are getting nervy about war, tariffs, overpriced tech, and overpriced AI. Buffett is furiously putting everything in cash. Wouldn't be a surprise to see 4800-5500 on the S&P at some point this year.

The West has given Ukraine half-a-trillion dollars, and lost 20% of Ukraine, in 3 years. It's the biggest military defeat anywhere in the developed world this century. It will take Ukraine 100-200 years to payback its war debt. That is why Trump wants peace. The West can't afford it. Ukraine can't afford it. And there are 1 million dead and disabled men, women and children to show for it.

On a related point, it would be good to see the industry calling it "fermented" meat, not cultivated or cultured or lab. It's a much nicer description.

Was massively overbought yesterday, in the 8s, after a +120% run in a month. Looks a bit oversold now, in the 5s, after a -30% pullback on profit-taking. NAV remains at 16p. May be time to buy the dip, and let it rip.

The waste on windmills has been horrific for years, both Tory and Labour. Until recently, you could get £75k per windmill per year, index-linked, guaranteed payment for a quarter of a century, just to have one sitting in your field, whether the blades turned or not.

Yup, Australia and NZ need to get in NATO, asap. China is surrounding them.

Sounds like propaganda, rather than facts...

Fact is, Trump has stopped the Lebanon war, he's all but stopped the Israel-Gaza war, the Syria war is over, the Turkey-Kurd war is ending, Zelensky is going to sign the minerals deal, and Putin is ready to talk peace. And it's only a month into Trump's second term. US hard power is as formidable and unmatched as ever.
