As predicted, months ago, on here, AMGO has plunged down to the 1-3p level.

Some very naive "investors" here.

It has been clear -- for a long long time -- that the biz environment for low-end loans is all but dead.

Reminds of SXX, where naive small gamblers were convinced (for years) that a giant potash mine was "right around the corner". Even when it approached 0p!

S&P now down -11% from its high, officially in correction territory.

US, UK and Australia today starting to empty their embassies in Kiev. If Vlad goes on his winter holiday to Ukraine in the next week or two, markets are not gonna like it...

Dow set to open 200-500 points down. Wouldn't be a surprise to see it fall further.

Russia is days away from taking Ukraine and Kiev. Snatching the prize from under the noses of the EU, UK, US, and NATO.

Russia also set for live war games and missile tests off the coast of Cornwall in Feb.

If Vlad piles into Kiev, or Omicron 2 is bad, there could be another full-on market collapse, like H1 2020.

Depressing to read the unrelenting urge on here for buybacks and divvys. Those kinds of "strategies" are from the previous century, and have not worked in the UK for decades. It is a fossil plan for a fossil bank.

Lloyds needs to look to the longterm future, and start talking about new hypergrowth markets for the next 50 years, like blockchain DeFi or metaverse mortgages.

As predicted, on here, weeks ago, THG is headed for 150p.

Atmosphere here is ultra-bearish. Panic setting in.

Any closure below the 150p level in the coming days points to the 50-100p range on the charts as a next stop.

Yup, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, even Sweden and Norway, anywhere in the East or North or Arctic, look (and feel) very afraid of Russia's newfound global power.

This fear we feel, now, about Ukraine, is phase 1 in the West's (probably unstoppable) decline. The US, NATO, and democracy are losing control of the world. Let's all hope Russia steps back from the brink...

Russia cares not a jot about the rest of the world.

Russia was able to waltz into deepest England (Salisbury) and kill / maim people with WMDs in 2018 -- and the West could do nothing about it.

Lol. Germany, France, Italy and Spain have lost every major war since the 1800s. The chance of the EU stopping Russia marching into Ukraine, or East Poland, or anywhere on the Eastern borders, if Russia really wants to, is about zero.

You gotta hope this is just posturing from Russia, for concessions. Or that they only take a tiny part of East Ukraine and it lasts a fortnight. Because a full-on war, over a month or two, bringing Ukraine back into the New Russian Empire, is not a good prospect for anyone.

Yes, Ukraine looks terrifying, right now.

Putin's buildup on the border is 2 x bigger than the entire UK army.
If Russia piles in, Ukraine will be overrun in weeks.

That, in turn, will accelerate China to take Taiwan.
And Taiwan builds 60% of all the world's electronic chips.

Some say Russia will then move to take other parts of Europe, like East Poland (near Belarus).

UK is also supplying arms to Ukraine.
If Ukraine takes out large numbers of Russian soldiers with UK arms in a war, Mr Putin will not be a happy chappy.

The scenario for a full-on global or European war and economic crash is closer now than it has been since the last century.

US is back in a bear market. Nasdaq tanking. Bad earnings, soaring inflation, rocketing interest rates and high bond yields.

China's economic "growth", alone, in 2021 was 3 times larger than the entire GDP of Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland combined. Bigger than the entire economies of Indonesia, Switzerland and Turkey. Quite astonishing.

If you folks really want one... you can get a £20k loan for £350 buttons a month, and a near-brand-new gold Rolex Daytona Diamond Dial, and be bragging it up down the pub next weekend... You can probably then resell it in a decade for the same or more cash. Thank me later ;-)

There is obvs a big sector-rotation (for now) from techs into banks.

Tbh, not too fussed about the fibbing. That is what "politics" is about. You fib to win power. Whether one likes it or not.

Much more important is "realpolitik". And the realpolitik is that pretty much everyone on the "next PM" shortlist right now looks capably worse than Boris. He is the "best" of a (very) bad bunch. Sad state of affairs, but there you go.

What Boris should do is ring up his old mate, Don Cummings, and invite him back to the No.10 inner circle. Cummings was obviously the brains behind the scene. Since Cummings left, Boris has collapsed in the polls.

2. Bring back Dom
3. Cut taxes

Simples.

There is obviously a coordinated campaign to get Boris out. Cummings is winning. The weekly trickle of (old) bad news is classic politics and career "death by a thousand cuts".

Problem is, the potential PM replacements look just as bad as Boris. Rishi overspent during the pandemic, is now overtaxing after the pandemic, and looks reckless with our wallet. Truss is anonymous and has done little or nothing to inspire anyone.

If Boris goes (80% chance), the UK will be out of the frying pan, into the fire :-(

BBC World makes a (big) profit. It helps reduce the BBC UK license fee.

The Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation should be given a chance to reform. BBC World remains the world's no.1 radio station, the world's no.1 news website, and the world's no.1 or no.2 TV news station. The BBC is pretty much Britain's last remaining global soft power. Everything else, like music, has collapsed. The BBC needs a Maggie Thatcher type, to give the Beeb a good shakeup. Change its culture.

Boris obviously wasn't following his own Covid rules, because he ended up in hospital ICU and nearly died from Covid in Apr 2020. Not to mention the chatter of his very "active" private life last year. That No.10 was party-central in 2020 should be of no surprise to anyone.
