Not sure why there is still so much media hysteria about Trump.

It is Biden who has brought +10% inflation, -20% tech wreck, -1% GDP decline, brink of recession, and daily threats on the edge of thermonuclear war.

The world is a much closer to economic and nuclear apocalypse than ever before since Biden.

UK and US inflation looks like it has already peaked in recent weeks. The worst is nearly over.

My mate works at a UK dealership for a Japanese brand. Says the number of folks coming into the showroom to drop 40k on an EV, to save a tenner a week on fuel costs, is going through the roof.

Looks like LLOY share price is starting to tank, as news sinks in about the extra bad-debt provision for the rest of 2022. The forward guidance is a bit shaky.

Not sure it's wise to stir the Russia pot.

UK nukes only work if America gives out the code. UK nukes can only hit a few parts of the world, not all of it. Russia has 30 x more nukes, they are much faster, truly global, and produce a bigger bang. Just one Russia Satan 2 hypersonic missile will wipe out the entire UK mainland. Even if the UK dropped all its 100+ active nukes, Russia is so big, at least 20-50% of the territory would survive.

UK is massively outgunned.

And there are no guarantees the US would join in until the main battles are over (like WW2).

Don't stir the pot.

Yup, that 4% divvy will offset the 80-90% collapse in the share price ;-)

If Russia invades Finland, or does a buildup on the border, the KDR share price will crash.

The Musk-Twitter takeover will not make a jot of difference to the UK.

Britain already has the most oppressive speech and thoughtcrime laws in the entire Western world.

The US takeover will change nothing for Britain.

Patience defo needed with UK shares.

FTSE100 is pretty much unchanged from a quarter-century ago.
LLOY lower than it was last century.

Well, hard-Left pseudo-intellectual populism has hardly been much fun, either.

Junior communist Merkel has been gifting $1b for dodgy gas every couple days to fund the Russian nuclear war machine for 2 decades. Macron has been breaking the EU arms embargo to sell $250m of deadly weapons to the Russian war machine for a decade so they can slaughter Ukrainian Europeans. Biden has brought the world closest ever to thermonuclear war, and Wall Street has plunged 10-20%, losing everyone trillions.

Trump brought one of the safest eras ever in human history, no major new wars, and a Wall Street boom.

It's not the share... it's the sector.

British banking is in unstoppable decline.

The Northern Irish banks are gone. The Welsh banks are gone. The Scottish banks are gone. The Northern English banks are gone.

All you're left with is a tiny handful of half-assed banks in Southern England.

LLOY is never going to be a rising share in a declining sector.

Merkel was a junior communist in the DDR, who grew to be a sleeper adult communist of a state that hands autocratic Russia $1b every couple days. There is a reason why the CIA and MI6 tapped her mobile phone every day for a decade...

UK is an aristo duopoly with a thin veneer of democracy, just subtle enough to stop the masses from kicking off. The UK system has been carefully gerrymandered over decades to stop new challengers to the two-party carve-up. You can win 5-10% of the popular vote in the UK, and still get 0 seats in parliament...

The UK energy sector imploded in 2022 because Ofgem / Whitehall had deregulated the retail market, but regulated the wholesale market.

Free to sell.
Not free to buy.

Deregulated only half the industry supply chain.

Mindblowing ineptitude.

Only the highest tax burden ever in UK peacetime history, loading the nation with record debt of trillions until other people's money runs out, public services crumbling in the hands of out-of-control red unions, two years of enforced house arrest, rolling out the harshest thoughtcrime and speakcrime oppression in the Western world, the biggest surveillance state on planet Earth, and on and on it goes...

As posted last week, UK and US inflation is more or less peaking right now, and the worst is over.

Any UK recession in 2022 or 2023 will be short and mild. People still have the feelgood factor and want to party after the Covid apocalypse.

But the LLOY share price has plunged -20% in the short-term, -40% in the mid-term, and -90% in the long-term.

There is zero evidence that a dividend-first plan works in the modern world.

Never understood the weird obsession with dividends.

A tiny 4% dividend, much lower after tax, in no way whatsoever makes up for the -21% plunge in the LLOY share price over just a few weeks.

It is a triumph of outdated investor indoctrination over modern reality.
