LLOY should be using its spare cash and debt to buy up big or wealth banks in future world powers, such as Australia or Canada.

LLOY needs to think about the next century. Not the past century.

Don't worry about debt.

We now live in the Debt Age.

Financial engineering means it is perfectly normal for someone on 30k to carry 300k of long, mid and short debt.

If the debt problem gets too bad, the UK state will just step in and bail everyone out.

Inflation has already peaked in H1 2022. Interest rates will peak in H2 2022. The bounceback will come in 2023.

The Tories and the Democrats have elections coming up in 2024. They will engineer tax cuts, rate cuts and free housing handouts to bring back the feelgood factor.

The worst of the UK inflation spike is already over, the cost of living "crisis" hysteria has not materialized, employment remains strong, interest rates will not go as high as expected, while house prices continue to trend upwards.

The UK just has to sit out a few more months of mild GDP slowdown, and the Wall Street flash-crash, and things will be settling back to normal by 2023.

The UK economy is in relentless structural decline. Homegrown tech absolutely sucks. The London stockmarket is dying. And London's days as a top financial and aviation hub are drawing to a close.

All the UK signs are bad. None is good.

Gambling is when the lower classes place a bet on a sport or stock.

Investing / trading is when the nice middle and upper classes place a bet on a sport or stock.

To be fair, the LLOY share price has cratered an astonishing -85% since 2009 and been one of the worst-performing stocks in the history of mankind.

Berenberg, by and large, have been right to be bearish.
