I don’t understand why Ashley has only asked for 5% but maybe someone can fill me in? Surely the offer has to be for majority control

I can’t see the bod accepting it as they already have a 150 loan lined up

If they did though surely he has crossed the threshold and he has to make a formal bid for the whole company?

Pyueck, I like a few others on here have found this stock engrossing over the last few months. I cant really see your point. A forum titled; Debenhams share chat is probably going to be somewhere that people talk about debenhams a lot. I do prefer it though when people put valid financial insights on here rather than a lot of tit for tat

franalex; what do you think about the prospect of 10p over the summer months? interesting to get a contrasting view.

Im not of the opinion it will rise today or next week although holding an average of 3p I wouldn't be complaining, but I do believe as the maximum sp bid drops dramatically over the summer this will be too tempting to not be taken

by the way when I do make a lot of money over the summer I will be buying the house next to smartie purely to terrorize him!

Pearls im with you that MA will try a takeover bid but I don't think that will happen tomorrow. I can see your logic though and tf it happens in the next couple of weeks great.

if not I agree with Johnson and see multiple parties interested as the maximum takeover bid becomes so low towards the summer

only question you need to ask smartie is are you going to regret selling out for the 4p give away if there is a takeover? Will keep you updated with the holiday postcards!

I don't see the risk in this share that was previously there. the risk of administration has now passed and there are one of two outcomes:
1) Mike Ashley takeover one way or another
2)Debenhams refinances and restructures the business with the 150 loan
at a 3.30p current SP and 40 million market cap either is great!
