metamorphosis there's no bear case to be made, its already happened. We are at 3p with a market cap of 40 million. Making a bear case at the moment is just running with the herd, which is not how I make money.

The sp is at the mercy of the shorts until solid news is released which is imminent, a timescale that has been ramped up by Ashley himself with his offer

Can we all be quite clear on the invesco story here. as far as I am aware (and this is only from the articles ive read) firstly invesco declined to comment and secondly they gave no confirmed date of when they actually sold the last of the shares? So they could have started selling them last summer? so how is it relevant news? Kinglek this share is far from dead. Ashley is doing his best to stop a refinancing deal. If he succeeds we all get a short term payday with the market reacting to him taking control in a positive way. however I then believe he will deliberately push the company to administration to aid massive write offs. The best outcome I see is share dilution via a debt for equity swap and restructuring plan and holding onto the shares until the summer. With every bit of good news from there on you will see a recovery similar to the many names you have mentioned.

mothercare and carpetright are good examples of potential profits if it goes the right way and homebase is a great example of how with the right landlord cooperation in the changes to terms, the estates and rental costs can be quickly tranformed

going by sports directs continued desperate attempts to derail the refinancing deal, its looking increaingly likely that the americans will be refinancing debenhams before the 25th of march, unless sports direct makes a takeover bid. Although it might not reflect into the SP immediatley, its going to be a game changer for this share; stability and restructuring.

franalex I think to keep saying the asset base value is zero is disingenuous.
1) why are the banks willing to lend if the value is zero?
2) why is MA willing to offer 150 at this point and possibly more at a later date?
3) what value can be put on the profit making foreign business?

Im all for a balanced argument not a skewed one. I work as an asset manager and I can see value in the business subject to restructuring
