NDN, you're right in the sense that they can pick up the phone (by the way you can do this too (just be armed with sensible questions ;) when you speak to the IR team). However, the management will be massively paranoid about giving away insider information at such a sensitive point in time (just look at the consistency in language in the RNS / PR feeds). Smart investors are good are good at teasing out information.

Point being I very much doubt Polygon or Polar know more than you, I or the rest of the well educated forum.

the only comment I'd add is that IF we were to gets bids for the company (subject to all the usual caveats on results), then I think Polygon will be much more aggressive at making sure less is left on the table for the buyer. The institutional fund managers at Polar would likely be a bit more laissez faire. Polygon will be pressurising the board to squeeze every last penny IMO.

Agree with both your posts. Its not like Polar can hedge their position being a long only equities fund either (stand to be corrected, but my understanding). We might all think what are Polar doing selling some now, but we all need to remember that the LPs in the fund are seeking quite conservative returns. Otherwise the LP's would be invested elsewhere. The risk / return expections between LPs invested with Polar and Polygon will be really, really different.

These figures feel low given the placing price of 1.70 relative to the risk of funding a phase 3 trial. I suspect investors will be compensated more handsomely, subject to a good results.

Assuming the company stays indipendent, then either some sort of govt. forward funding deal and / or licencing with big pharma (Numis are underwriting royalties of 30% of gross revenue). On this basis you could see how significantly more 1.2 million treatments per annum could be delivered.

Always good to have a degree of caution and really test your investment underwriting. However, I think the contents and importantly the source of the article you just posted has been analysed and discredited by forum. I'm sure you can find the analysis posted by members a few weeks ago.
