Hants, I don’t think the discomfort from the test is relevant. Millions are being tested around the world like this at present and it’s been the standard test for many years. Injections can be painful, that doesn’t mean you don’t have it. Of course one or two people will complain which the media will jump on for sensationalism.
For me the USP here is the fact you do t need a lab to complete the test. Gove talking to Marr this morning said we have capacity to do 38k PCR tests a day but are only doing 21k. We now have the issue of getting the people to the test (some of the constraint is driven by policy to only test frontline healthcare workers at present). AVCTs test remove a key bottleneck and could allow testing up to multiples of the gov end April target. It opens up demand and creates a bigger market itself. That is why I am in here.
