It would appear far more likely an LFT issue than PCR. The Breton variant caused a few issues for some PCR assays last year but this issue seems to suggest either duff LFT batches or the specificity is cr@p allowing them to pick up something that PCR would just ignore.

It would make sense and would explain why they aren't being picked up by PCR. This government just can't help buying cr@p, billions of it.

Interesting exmex, that would infer that the specificity of the Chinese LFTs is sh@t and it's only now becoming obvious because the prevalence of rhinovirus has increased significantly.

It's the dispute, we are the only one of these companies to have delivered tangible revenue but it hangs over us like a fetid cloud of sh@t. Get a resolution to it and we move on rapidly , we could easily buy 70m+ of annual revenue if you look at the deal ekf did last week without even resorting to dilution. Then 100m pa looks more than attainable in the medium term.

The Delta variant is not disappearing any time soon in the US with wallopers like this on the streets.

Exmex, my understanding is that nothing can be sold in the UK from November that hasn't been through the new regulatory process. That would point to something already approved, we've got the resources/cash/distributors to scale up manufacture. Is it worth the hassle though? thin margins in a highly competitive space. It would get the punters hot under the collar though if the reaction on ABDX is anything to go by today.

There are no guarantees that the government will pursue any mass PCR testing strategy in 2022 so the time to reach an agreement is while we at least have a bargaining chip or 2 in the form of products we can do a deal on that they want/need (having just released winterplex a product we'd want to get into the pillar 2 labs) , besides one of the invoices is already 9 months overdue.

I doubt the management would pursue a strategy where they willfully allow this dispute stretch out in to the next FY because it will bull up 2022s revenues.

At least the media is switching some of their focus back to the pandemic, a few shortcomings may start to get addressed rather than Johnson betting the house on the power of prayer and hiding his eyes.

The problem is they don't care at the top.

Director sales attract far more scrutiny than purchases particularly if they're conveniently timed in retrospect. We had a director purchase in July and no one batted an eye lid.

I'm all for them filling their boots, if for no other reason other than to wallow in our shared misery as a show of solidarity ;-)

As for this lots marketing nous , you'll get no arguments from me. Winterplex, NHS are screaming out for this diagnostic tool this winter, what do we get? A bloody tweet while we're already seeing other respiratory diseases making their presence felt along with covid. I lost count of the number of people I know who've got a 'cold' not realizing that the initial symptoms are identical with Delta and didn't bother getting tested.

@tkr234 - you can't be in a closed period forever. You could argue that with the interims etc being out of the way unless there's an impending update to the dispute or a deal being finalized elsewhere then they should be free to buy.

Unfortunately I can't get to the original study but it concludes that 12 weeks after second dose of AZ, transmission is as likely as being unvaccinated when exposed to Delta variant ared to Alpha. I'm not aware of anyone being offered AZ as a booster shot, perhaps this is why.

There's no implication that the AZ doesn't provide decent protection against serious illness even after the 12 weeks that I'm aware of, people should still get vaccinated.
