The use of AI will reduce Contact Centre type staff but will require techies to deploy and manage. Overall though staff numbers will reduce. Councils using automation will reduce staffing levels through retirement and staff leaving! Unlikely to be any redundancy campaigns!

IR in Capita have been very touchy on-staff numbers when I pushed for details, but when I explained they were happy to help. We should be below 40k but it is a moving target!

Numbers now should stabilise!

Capita India has around 5.5k staff

Total Capita staff around 39k?

Valid point NI uplift will only affect around around 15-20k staff in UK

It depends upon the start date for the NI increase. It could be 1st Jan which is next year’s figures!

Agree margin is important. Low margin was an effect of previous management going on the expansion buying up companies for silly prices. This expansion loaded Capita with debt and diluted the margin. The business units have now been sold off plus a few other successful businesses that did not fit the new direction.

In fairness to Jon the direction was set several years ago but had to be carried out in a way to keep the ship upright. The main problem with Jon was communication and a poor skillset in the previous board!

AH is a different kettle of fish. An out and out leader and techie! Someone with credibility and excellent communication skills!

He has the background and credibility to succeed!

I expect AH to deliver as promised and accelerate progress next year!

Councils need to improve services, and cut costs. I come from an automation background, Councils must conform what else can they do. Its very clear Labour have said sort out the councils first.

There will be a few big NHS contracts coming for renewal. The designs are already in place and Capita is the incumbent supplier. The existing technology is old so migration will be complex. This is a good fit for Capita skillsets!

The future is bright, the future is Capita!

Capita is starting to move up the value chain with Councils. They are migrating from Network provision to services provision. They have the contacts, understand the problems, and now have the solutions!

All the new solutions are cloud based. With the license agreements with Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. They have the advantage in the market place.

This is going to be a very interesting two years!!!

DYOR don’t sell out too cheap!

I reckon the markets will be unsettled, with large movements.

Not sure what to expect but have plans in place.

If Labour think they are going to increase tax intake they may find that things don’t always work as planned.

The End of Days is coming!

It could be declaring losses to reduce the tax bill on any gains!

They may buy back at the cheaper price!

The clock is ticking for the Government to demonstrate positive change in terms of public-sector performance, such as the NHS – with considerable expectation surrounding the upcoming Budget.

Looks like Automation in the Public Sector is more than a posibility!

This can be a good transition for ex service to move into The IT domain!

Simply I am saying that service men who are exiting the service could be used to deliver the service for a limited period. That way trained servicemen can be used for active duties.

This would be the best use of skillsets. Someone like yourself with over 30 years of service will not lose your skills over a period of 3-5 years. Technology does not change that fast!!

Lots of ex service at Capita doing all sorts ofJobs!

That also includes Voda and BT!

Ex Service do rather well in the IT world, especially in PM
