There has been no negative updates from the company. You seem to have been unlucky with your timing. Most of my AIM shares are underwater but I'm persevering with $ earners especially with current political uncertainty here. A m/c of £3mill is totally unwarranted and I can see this returning to double figures next year.

Vulcan. The market obviously doesn't believe PTRO can make up the shortfalls from the interims in the second half. If they do there should be a massive upward correction in the New Year. Some director buying would provide reassurance.

Like a number of AIM pharmas this is chicken feed m/c to the big boys. Constantly surprised that big pharma don't snap up businesses like ours. It is a worry that the next fund raise will cause massive dilution so it's a time critical situation. Watching keenly. ( I see you seem to be as depressed as me about oil shares- I've just got TRIN like you and JOG)

I fail to see the point of selling out at 3p here. It's priced to fail but I feel we are a long way from that. I'm fully loaded but if I was looking at it for the first time I would be buying heavily. Hopefully some game changing news in the next few weeks.

Having reviewed the Newmont deal I am inclined to agree with MT1 that they will see it through to production. This is clearly a major resource but the things holding back the sp are the time frame, AISC and critically the price of gold when production starts. Worth holding a few as a long term bet but many better short term opportunities available.

I agree that my timing was out but it doesn't get away from the fact that the sp has dropped by 75% in less than 2 years. Few people are impressed by all the good news it seems. Over the same period my shares in Shanta and Serabi have risen massively.

I originally bought in at12p in January last year. I have to say that it looked a better proposition then (pre Newmont and with a lower gold price) than it does now. That's probably just being cynical. I feel that there's plenty of small holders who will jump ship with a small profit. Ideally there will be an announcement that will move the sp rapidly upward.

Fair enough. I do respect other people's thoughts and opinions even if I don't agree with them. I'm not wishing the sp to fall lower and if it did I would be less inclined to buy more shares. From 50 years of trading shares the old falling knife adage has more often than not proven to be true. I seem to be far less heavily invested here than you are but not totally negative otherwise I would have sold out. Right now I'd be happy to get my money back on a break even.

You're right. I've noticed Silverlight before and he/she certainly is a different person.
Major-the closed period argument doesn't wash. Directors have had many months when nothing happening to buy shares but didn't. There are people who plough more than they can afford to lose into speculative (mining) stocks and have to convince themselves (as well as others) that it's a no brainer. I had similar discussions regarding BZT because people clung on the fact that it has a huge copper/gold concession but the sp still tanked. Pre Newmont hardly anybody posted on this board then suddenly we are going to hit the stars in weeks. They would have completely dismissed the idea that 14 months later the sp would be 3p. I really hope you are right for all shareholders sakes but I suspect that come next summer the sp will be closer to 5p than 50p.

I really hope you're right Major but if this is such a dead cert why aren't the directors filling their boots? They've had plenty of opportunity. Or Newmont buying cheap shares up to 29.99%? I'm averaging 9p on this but feel very cautious about taking any more.

I think that is a pretty fair summing up and I assume from your statement that Tek is on a discount to NAV. Last figures suggest an NAV of c30p per share. I agree that Lucyd is the least appealing company in the portfolio. With this tiny m/c any serious good news could have a dramatic effect on the sp.

That's not going to happen. I think if they offered 15p right now a lot of holders would bite their hand off.

had relentless discussion since it spiked to double figures 14 months ago. People need to realise that Newmont monies is just small change to them. They can leave it on the backburner for years then walk away without blinking. I'm not saying that they will but I'm resigned to a long wait.

On a broad front I see that only the dividend paying shares in my portfolio are in the money. Many others are decent companies with good prospects but people are relentlessly selling them off. Given the backing of some hefty and strong shareholders I am optimistic that we will survive here but it might be a slow process. Still averaging 9.5p but don't feel the need to put more in urgently.

d.monies. So many decent AIM companies are being sold down to ridiculous levels. I suspect that news will come in a rush and I believe Salarius will be worth more than total M/c eventually. I'm topping up while they're dirt cheap.

discount to NAV is good reason to hang on to these. Political issues might well discourage a potential bidder. I'm happy to be patient for now.

was happy to buy at well above this price then I'm fairly comfortable to hold on NtoM. I'm still averaging 9.5p but if they deliver next year that's fine by me.
