George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
Struggling for clarity on dividends going forward. Is it same again at the end of June and then a double payment in December to reflect the change to biannual payments?
Hello Pangloss. I'm a LTH of this and add during weak periods (like now). Spread under 1% at the moment (acceptable). With a 9% yield this must be at (or near ) basement level barring market meltdown.
Given the excellent yield (maintained over many years) and proximity to years lo the current sp is a bargain
You obviously bought post the Russian invasion when the company in its old guise tanked.
I've done just that. Strange that the sp is showing such weakness right now. Makes me wonder if I'm missing something.
Adv11. Your interpretation and calculations are exactly the same as mine. We'll soon see
AL. This is really a punt on whether there will be a return to normal relations with Russia (post Putin) because that's where the real hidden value lies. A very long shot and I'm not inclined to tie up money here right now. NAV in the order of £7 but most tied up in Russia
My finger hovered over the buy button today but I don't trust it not to drop further. Opted for BATS instead for size and yield.
Guitarsolo. Broadly speaking so do I-hence hanging on. I don't understand how Thai Airways filed for bankruptcy protection but is now profitable and not making payments for its leased aircraft. What am I missing here?
Guitarsolo. I feel that there are too many X factors surrounding this company to make any accurate predictions. Hence the massive yield. I suspect (hope) that the dividend will be held for another 2 years then uncertainties abound. It sounds like a worst case scenario would be a scrapping of the whole fleet(unlikely) which might yield $120mill or selling some or all the aircraft for possibly 3 times as much. Maybe new leases will be drawn up. I think it's a matter of faith and trust. I'm hanging on for now.
Hope so Pianista but situations can change rapidly as we have seen so don't bank on it
EoB. One of few recent winners for me. Ok-charges are a bit high but it gives a decent dividend. Happy to hold this boring investment. Cheers
I suspect that the divi will be suspended for a couple of years so there is no incentive to buy at present. I bought at c5p a while back and will probably hold on . The fundamentals are pretty sound and it could be a takeover target??
CD1. I've got a broad spread of ITs in my ISA all heading in the same direction at the moment. Year end tax considerations? In isolation and without director buying I would be more concerned. Window of opportunity perhaps?
Wonder if there's any action behind the scenes?
Spindok. Stress free is a very relative term if you're buying shares. Spread the risk-I'm sure you do
Whichever way you look at it we are now selling at 60% discount to a NAV that has consistently risen over the years
I'm buying sub 10p. Into seriously cheap territory
Given the strength of dividend cover and good forward visibility the rating looks unduly harsh. Reflects a general antipathy toward this sector of the market
No investor engagement? Really? I've found plenty on Proactive Investors over a long period. There's just a general apathy towards companies like this. Huge discount to NAV and a diverse mining portfolio. I suspect it will move back towards 20p when the microcap market improves
