I have a friend who studied climate change at University and when I challenged them about their theories of the contributions of man to climate change presenting the views of climate change sceptics they said those views were nonsense. When I then asked whether they had discussed sceptic views on the course they said no because there was no point. So students were being presented with a 100% one sided view of climate change with no discussion or consideration of alternative views. That is not education.

A 1.2 C degree rise and 30 cms sea-level increase since 1880 aren’t unusual in historical terms. The climate is driven by many natural factors we barely understand. To claim humans can control it by cutting CO₂ is bonkers. The real issue is not the warming itself but the panic caused by a small group pushing fear and costly policies that may achieve nothing. Better to adapt sensibly than chase impossible global fixes

Blackhole .. FID decision will see higher than £1 and first oil will see over £2 so that’s why we are invested. Why don’t they tell us why they have appointed yet another broker? We were told last week that we have sufficient funds for our immediate requirements so there should be no need for another fund raise for now.

The BofD are sadly reminding me more and more of Chris Witty and his cronies during Covid .. may be great scientists but hopeless at sorting out the bigger picture. In my view govt scientists got things spectacularly wrong during Covid and I just hope our BofD won’t do the same.

As there is a very strong likelihood FID is going to be announced very soon is it fair to say it is probably already priced in or is there still considerable upside potential when the news comes?
