My view is that the FID is imminent and almost certainly in 2025. For once all the ducks seem to be in a row and once they are ready to go I don’t think they’ll hang about waiting for the election result.

My point was you had to make 35 Years of contributions to get a FULL state pension so OAPs do deserve what they get. It should be a basic human desire to go out and work so you can look after yourself but sadly millions of people no longer take on that responsibility preferring to be lazy and expecting other people to bale them out. It’s totally unsustainable. But it’s a problem throughout the developed world now and I’m not sure there are leaders out there with the strength to address the problem preferring to always focus on quick fixes with no long term plan.

State pensions should never have been classified as benefits. You cannot receive a full state pension unless you have paid NI through working for 35 years so it is completely different to the free handouts to millions of working age people who have never contributed a damned thing. We have 2 things going tragically wrong. Frozen tax thresholds reducing net income year after year for hard working people whilst benefits are upgraded every year. Constant attacks on private pensions where people are trying to save for their old age whilst gold plated public sector pensions sail along untouched. The whole mentality crew area a route back and ruin. Come on RKH save us!

FID has been delayed at least 6x over last 10 years so what is 1 more delay? Unlikely in my view and hope it goes through in 2025 we all deserve it for our patience!

We took the train from the south coast to Penrith and back at the weekend and travelled for free saving £238. Reason was because outward and return legs were delayed by over an hour. Have reached point now where I hope indeed I expect trains to be delayed. A pathetic indictment of this country sadly.
