Just seems a bit of an unnecessary venture into other businesses that they, at the moment, use relatively infrequently. If you need a few skips when doing up a property would it be cost effective to buy your own skip lorry, get a waste disposal licence, taken on extra staff to drive the thing. Maybe if you were doing a whole new build estates. At the moment they have a bit of a fixer-upper in Appledore and making a few mobile homes. All these ventures have a feeling of being useful distractions as they can't get others things signed off. Anyhow, as always, we will see.

Would that be cash flowing in, or flowing out? ;)

Besides what looks like a response and another dig at the Steamship company and their statement last week I'm seeing a lot of forward sounding statements. As is the norm I guess. Not convinced that they are at the point that they are docking so many vessels that they need to take it in-house. And are they really moving materials between yards, YET. A couple of years down the line , maybe. When they have actually built a FSS block and need to start moving stuff between yards.

These RNS's saying H&W are going to this and H&W are going to do that have become so frequent that the market appears to just ignore them. Is JW the boy who cried Wolff? :)

It notes the "speculation and rumours" on social media.

"...aware of some of the statements made by one of the shipbuilding companies which was unsuccessful in bidding to build our new vessels. Our intention is not to respond to these messages or engage in debates on social media"

It sets out their thinking as regards private funding as opposed to the LU fund route and also the reasonng behind their choice of shipyard. Concluding with, "Piriou offered a very competitive bid, has a strong balance sheet and more than 50 years’ experience building more than 600 technical vessels."

I guess latching onto a company name's history and making a few barges didn't cut it.

The Hagland Saga has been recently working out of Glensanda in Scottyland. Maybe it's heading back up there and needs an oil change or somesuch. :)

Not sure why they are saying that its making landfall at Cornborough, LSE. Aways thought it was coming in over the river near Suanton and down the back of the Burrows to Yelland.

Similar to the proposed White Cross array.

Was speaking with a local councilor the other day about it, as the burrows are an AONB and a UNESCO site. There were plans to use a "mole" boring machine to get the cable run under the dunes so as not to disturb the ecosystem above.

Unfortunately, the proximity of either of these projects doesn't necessarily equate to work for the yard. Unless they can pick some up from being at hand for some repair work on the vessels involved.

Unless we are going into cable laying as well now. :)

Saying that, (checks watch), It's been a while since we got involved in something that isn't shipbuilding

The picture is taken at Appledore quite recently. They are stood on/around the "frame " they built for BAE for the SMITE facility in Barrow. You may have seen it before as it was used in the company newspaper at the time.

Further to the conversation back along regarding work on the SeaRose Life Extension Project. This article gives an idea of what to expect on both the vessel itself and also the well site while the vessel is away at drydock.

The Terra Nova is very similar to the SeaRose and is positioned just to the South West of the SeaRose, East of NFL.

.... back in the land of the here and now, away the maybes, the potentially this and possibly thats. I see the tug Venture is back up North on route to Methil. It's just south of Burtisland, atm, where the Sarah Grey is still moored. Was the SG just a one off towing as it was passing London on the way to it's current port? Bit of an outlier as the Venture has been pretty consistently the go-to tug for towing the barges so far. If the next one is ready at Methil it may be down for dropping that off first, before doing the round trip to Belfast to pick up the CBB6. Similar to last time. The No.6 appears to be still in the BBD and is being moved out to the OQ (commissioning and outfitting quay) on the 29th. It's down for departure on the 30th, but there is no way the Venture would get back to Belfast by then. So it's more likely to be moved over to the SRQ, ready for a pick up later on.

So, with that vital bit of news divulged, I will let you get back to it.
