RE: Regulatory Change and the Online Safety Bill29 Aug 2023 00:00
Here is a question I have been pondering for some time. It is best explained by examining the circumstances.
I sold a property several years ago and shortly before completion I discovered Google Maps and Street View. My legal expenses incurred during the sale process included opinion on many matters regarding the image on Street View and how to have it altered or removed. I decided to leave those matters and the sale went ahead.
The image is still the same and includes 2 vehicle registrations and a family pet, now deceased. The property has been re-developed and belongs to someone else.
I have not discussed this matter widely and among that small number of people there is an image of a friend's deceased relative in front of their property.
The images of the property I now live in bear some resemblance to how it looks now.
All of the street view images mentioned above are detailed enough to allow some clarity of the view within the properties, throuh the windows, wallpaper etc.
Analysis of this matter will be continued shortly when I have read the Google, Alphabet, Google Maps, Street View Terms and Conditions of use again.
This is a difficult case.
