I know Zaza is impressive and inspiring on camera but is he backing himself into a corner by going so public on this? The 'majors' must know that any cessation in talks would be devastating for our SP, I worry that he's giving them the trump hand here by publicly pricing in (to some extent) a result. As an investor I've just got to trust him but it's a curious game.

'Investors need predictable timescales', well we've ticked that box! Now might we have the most unpredictable event on the planet and have AST granted a permit please. I still stick by what I said earlier that it's possible we have it but the deal is the announcement will come with the outcome of the SR to protect the interests of the most credible interested party which is certain to have Slovenian interest.

I'm wondering if it's possible we have the permit but the as the final details of a deal are being drawn up it will not be disclosed in advance of completion. I'm only going on the logic that whoever has been the most credible party in negotiations would not want this made public at such an advanced stage. After months of technical and legal work they would hardly be happy to have their commitment to the process undermined by attracting more powerful competitors. Equally AST for whom time is short, would also consider it in the interests of shareholders to honour this rather than upset the applecart at the eleventh hour. Speculation obviously....

Yes I understand that Richard and while I accept the reasoning it just feels like another convenient barrier to an open declaration of where we stand. I'm invested here far beyond an idle punt and I'm tiring of crazy predictions and simply want something to underpin my risk. This is one of my few AIM investments which is actually up so I'm not bitter just want some tangible information.

I'd happily give up this 'Super Major' speculation just to get some facts on the performance of our wells .I know from past posts if you say anything here other than the party line (with some honourable exceptions) you get jumped upon but I just want to know where we stand as shareholders on our investment. It seems like Zaza is making the carrot ever bigger but the facts just get more and more obscure. We simply have to get some flesh on the bones asap or this is in danger of becoming a farce.

Whyast while I agree with you that most people voting for Brexit didn't have the faintest idea about the actual implications which are now starting to unravel you can't really be serious about separating NI from GB. If you feel for the people of Ireland then you would have to consider the wishes of approximately half the population who identify as British. One thing is certain from recent Brexit discussions is that many prominent European bureaucrats need to go back to school and familiarise themselves with the concept of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, I think everyone can agree on that!

Hi Wilson I do agree with your points but I assume they don't know who we are hoping to bring on board. I also believe that base emotion plays a part in these things, all we know for certain is that Slovenia is clearly not pre-disposed to strengthen the position of AST. That is definite and the only other explanations I have heard are incompetence on our part in the permitting process and a campaign of insulting correspondence from our shorting enemies here which Colin has alluded to.

Perhaps the Slovenian authorities want to know the outcome of the Brexit negotiations before making a decision, not long to wait then?? I've been wondering about this for a while and honestly how can the future of our trading relations with the EU not impact on this process? Thanks Dave.

Thanks Crude - fascinating colour from the trip. If this adventure turns out well it will be one of my greatest regrets that I didn't manage to get out on one of these events. Anyone who has James' ear tonight please beg for the GSA before TE-9 hits 'squeaky bum time'. We need that backstop if only to protect the SP from carnage should TE-9 fail - I suspect the mood is much more positive at the event.... enjoy all.

Trouble is the predictions from the official channels are just as bad. Wasn't it on the 9th Aug they said within 2 months so that's well gone. Fear is the authorities just don't want AST to get out of this, doubt we'll ever know why relations got so bad.

That's fair advice Z, just desperate for something tangible in an RNS. With regards to other comments on my post, I stand by what I said, which is an honest expression of how I feel at the moment. There is no more chance of this having a detrimental effect on the SP than another poster's constant cheerleading producing a positive outcome. GLA

Thanks for the response Zibs, it's in my nature to back a project which is why I look for AIM companies where I genuinely believe in the long term outcome. Just frustrated here where there still seems to be more questions than answers. Good luck everyone that believes in investing in enterprise not trying to drive it into the ground.

To be reasonable chaps it's hardly surprising that we're a target for this gang. I invested just over a year ago thinking this company was in the process of a transformation from smoke and mirrors to main market credibility. Twelve months on and the promises have got bigger but the riddle has become yet more complex. I'm getting sick of it to be honest and am now looking for an exit. Wish well to all investors but we all know that PI's backing a company with their own cash are up against it on AIM.

I do think Shatner's thinking is feasible but it's just so blimmin annoying when just a week ago Zaza is promising the world to the faithful and now as if was possible the speculation goes to another level.

.... it's never just good news is it? Just more endless intrigue and speculation, no wonder we're so targeted by the naysayers..... more uncertainty on top of global wobbles = not good.

Golly Zibs I thought an 'elemental' was some kind of conduit to the other side! SOU has been battered this week and as a LTH there I'm very down that after all these years I might as well just popped in today. Still I doubt there is a drill on AIM that has ever been so derisked so an incredible opportunity (with risk as ever) for newcomers.
