Blimey I know Dirk's probably a bloke but I'm reminded of the classic film quote - "I'll have what she's having".

I think I raised this the other the day - JP has stated before that the company could be sold for a pretty 'interesting' price 'tomorrow' (correct me if I'm wrong in the wording, this is my memory of a recorded event). Given the market's assessment of the risk / reward of the upcoming drill programme is there now a case that he is duty bound to put this before shareholders tout-de-suite (Rodney)? I am actually being serious now and intend to raise it at the fireside chat, I don't know if I'm working at home or out and until this evening so is there anyone who agrees that knows they will be in front of a screen who would be happy to pose this question?

No I expected a gradual recovery as the drill became a reality but putting the trading plan to one side which has clearly spooked all but the most faithful, I do think the DD was a PR disaster. I'm not questioning its merit as a technical exercise but I do think the relentless references to our obstacles has made the TE-9 drill something to be feared rather keenly anticipated by the wider market. Global issues not helping - accepted.

I don't think it's cryptic at all, it will be a very reassuring address to the loyal, a bit like after Badile except he won't be buying a token bunch of shares along with Marco.

Problem is I don't think there's much appetite for TE-9 from new money so who really believes that the spud will get the SP moving? Even if TE-9 is a success where on earth is the SP going to be climbing from? I guess fascinating though it was giving the boffins a forum to explain how it's the hardest job in the world to find more gas in Tendrara may not have been a great move. You might be surprised that I still believe but I'm assuming that other LTH's like me made some ill-advised top-ups over the years and are now seeing their averages under threat. So annoying when you back a project like this all the way only to see your stock available so cheaply. No point listing all the reasons why I'm particularly p%^&*d off, it's all been said, if you're still in it's time to just grin and bear it, take the pain and pray that from amidst all this intrigue we pull off the long-awaited result and that it will all finally make sense.

I think to be fair 250 there is nothing intrinsically wrong with the trading plan but in retrospect it was a clear indication that a sale on seismic was off the table from a long way out, we'll probably never know why but I guess JP knew a long time ago that he could never get anywhere near the promised figures on that basis. He also anticipated the position we find ourselves in now where in the absence of any pre-drill market excitement any failure is going to lead the SP to unthinkable levels and has traded accordingly. While I know we should be valued higher on what's in the bag the non-appearance of the GSA has diminished focus on that, plus I do think we're suffering a kind of culture shock with the intriguing yet grim reality of the challenges we're facing replacing the bouncy optimism of old. Trying times but if TE-9 comes off it's going to be one hell of a ride - survivors here will certainly have deserved it!

Now now we knew about that and he had to anyway to get his holding down to 3.1 or whatever because he's superstitious. So nothing to worry about at all there.

Jez, I don't blame you for your doubts. It's been a tough journey since TE-8 which obviously knocked us off-course. I'm praying that the meticulous seismic programme makes TE-9 worth the risk. JP repeatedly asserts that he could sell before drilling but it's about getting the right price. Well if there are offers on the table I'd give my eyeteeth to know what region we are talking about because I think many investors might have a completely different idea about what sort of figure justifies being put before shareholders compared to JP.

Crikey Jez - I thought I was cynical! I think we can forgive him 'Rumania', I'm no proof reader but I don't recall much else wrong and the general style was in keeping I thought. Unless...... MK have you been writing these yourself all along?? :)

Thanks MK as usual all very reassuring from JP, I have never suggested that assembling the rig should be easy but odd that they seem to be have been taken by surprise over the need to source certain consumables from all over the world. Interesting points about the move from TE-7 to 8 not requiring complete disassembly and the recertification implications - so thanks have taken that on board. The webcam is still on Saturday 6th so for all we know it's up anyway.

MK - Perhaps not, all I know about this from JP is that he mentioned the weather and a poster referred to a conversation at the DD in which he referred to some damage or storage issues. Has he said more that I have missed?

.... it's pretty obvious that there have been problems in assembling the rig. Didn't JP admit as much in a conversation at the DD? Maybe it was damaged in transit, on one of the webcams we saw a container bow alarmingly when being craned off. Who knows but it is taking an awful lot longer than previous drills, anyway better that they iron out any issues methodically on the ground before attempting to drill. Problem is it's creating a vacuum of uncertainty and I think any official statement explaining the slow progress will be counterproductive. As for the SP well that's hardly surprising given JP's trade plus letting geologists lecture about the litany of problems they're faced with at Tendrara. All fascinating stuff but when the issue of tight sands which has always been known about suddenly gets referred to as 'concrete' at TE-8 it's hardly surprising that many have taken flight.

I feel for you Kissi but aren't the gory details of a failed relationship a little 'off-topic'?

Mickey I'll be completely upfront and admit I'm concerned about your motives for declaring that you have a mole. If it is true why are you jeopardising their career and wouldn't it be prudent for you personally to keep such a great source under your hat? Sincere apologies if my gut feeling is wrong but I would advise investors to be wary on this one.
