RR I assume you're not serious? We are going through a period where Zaza has asked investors to sit and wait in a dark room with our fingers crossed. We need some answers soon or our faith will have been pushed too far. Talking of faith I start my FRR advent calendar tomorrow, countdown to find out if the "which Christmas" jokes last year will have turned out to be optimistic.

Stock markets used to operate without shorting, it certainly isn't required to create a market. It's clearly immoral as the jackpot is to bring down the company as eventually a successful campaign will make it impossible for the targetted company to raise funds. I'm not saying that outright frauds haven't been targetted by shorters but generally it's an attempt to profit by crippling an enterprise. Successive governments have failed to look into it because they run scared of the city institutions. The 3% disclosure of a short position is an absolute joke because it's as much in the seller's interests for it to be known that a company is under attack as not.

So what you're saying is they've taken our sweeties away because of all the nasty things said on here, oh well I'll miss the Wacky Races at TE-11 though :)

I know that complaining about the webcam can appear churlish - after all which other explorer goes to these lengths with investor comms but I'd be interested to know what people make of it's disappearance at TE-10. I believe 'electricity issues' was mentioned during the FSC so can we assume they haven't been able to plug in the tea urn as well? Or might it be that switching it on would reveal price sensitive information - does leave a bit of a chasm for speculation.

Two sentences isn't really an article - why would we need another partner, hope nobody's thrown the towell in!

I have always thought that there will eventually be a big legal where the bulletin board owners will have to accept that they are publishers and not merely a conduit. It will probably happen on one of the biggies like Twitter or Facebook but the implications will shake down. When that does happen they will monitor the boards properly, laughable that some light-hearted book titles have been removed when some really foul stuff gets overlooked regularly.

Okay RduR you've landed some blows today, that Sailing with Sound clip was a tough watch at the time let alone now, but I think you're on the wrong track with the Mary thing. What are you suggesting about her reasons for leaving?

Mapp I agree with you that we have enemies in that camp but why do you think they train so much of their fire on FRR? Zaza has yet to prove to the wider market that our history of overpromising and underdelivering is truly behind us. Even amongst LTH's on here, it is evident that the longer the NDA wears on the more doubts are going to creep in. Until we get the big news then RNS's like today's just look like small beer and worse, a confused strategy.

I think it's dropping because the RNS is not a resolution of the court action or more importantly a successful outcome with the 2nd major. That's the problem with such potentially monumental news in the background - everything else is a disappointment. Meanwhile we're left guessing about well tests, oil sales, finances, legals etc - a sitting duck to the de-rampers for now.

Being a FRR shareholder reminds of the Greek mythological figure Tantalus. His eternal punishment was to stand forever in a pool of water which receded whenever he bent to drink while above him was a tree bearing delicious fruit which would lift away from his grasp whenever he reached for nourishment. In other words, there's always blimmin something with FRR!!!!

I don't think anyone of us will forget where we were when we heard Mary mention Ftse 100, blimey that seems a long time ago! Mind you it reminds me of one of the most hilarious posts on this board when someone ventured that JP sacked Mary for ramping, if true perhaps the quintessential pot and kettle scenario.

'Weasel Words' probably sums it up 250. JP declared that the TP was purely to reduce his exposure even citing that he wasn't from a wealthy background and that it was appealing to go to 31M for superstitious reasons (31 TCF geddit?), well we're not laughing now. I didn't have a problem with it at the time now but we now know it was a reaction to the seismic which his beloved shareholders were brought up to speed with (nearly)many months later at the DD. I have often said that it would be one of my greatest regrets that for personal reasons I never made it out on one of the trips but it's now a crumb of comfort that I didn't shell out a penny for the privilege of meeting this shower. That's not meant to hurt the many good people that did but simply how I feel, before anyone says it, this is not a petulant reaction to a duster but the troubling information that has emerged in the fall-out.

With the benefit of retrospect JP's decision to go public on a LE was perhaps the earliest red flag. He knew how perilously liquid his stock was with the serial failures to attract institutional investors. The carrot of the LE was designed to ensure his PI base was a sticky as possible and I'm ashamed to say I have fallen into this trap. In the FSC they hid behind 'price sensitive information' to avoid making even vague reassurances about where we might be underpinned on our existing discovery when previously glib hints and even cast iron claims would gush forth at every event. The FSC even suggests there are now subtle reworkings of what a LE might be from favouring a complete company sale to talks of a portfolio of assets, yep looks like JP could be planning on serving a LE 'flavoured drink' rather than the real thing.

Not that simple Tapper I'm afraid, it is the nature of the failure and the disturbing information gleaned during the FSC.

If we're paying £15K bills with equity it's obviously time for wage cuts across the board at SOU. An engineering company local to me did it in the last financial crisis and it wasn't unpopular with the staff as it was implemented as a % of salary so senior management took the biggest cuts. I think they were FTSE 350 at the time now a FTSE 250 company. I think in these desperate times it's long overdue to preserve cash and build a war chest for plan B as obviously there is zero confidence in the three well programme. I genuinely think shareholders need to rally now or the begging bowl will be coming out in the New Year.

Given the dreadful performance of the board in the last two years is it time for shareholders to push for another way to preserve 'cash balances for operations'. I think you know what I'm getting at - it's the one that Directors don't find so easy to trot out in a throwaway RNS.

No Curlyputt three out of three would always have been unlikely but nobody expected the Exploration Director to effectively say the seismic is nearly useless after the first failure. I maintain my feelings that Brian should go while remaining respectful of the man himself (allowing for a few light-hearted jibes). He can walk away well paid for his time at SOU with only his professional pride dented. Now that the truth is out about the seismic we need a slice of luck at 10 and Brian is only lucky in his personal investing decisions.
