May 2018 was the 1 for 50 consolidation. Who would have thought after reaching the dizzying heights of £16 or thereabouts Oxb has lost 75% of its value. Would love to know what money is left in the bank. Not long to wait now. You have to ask yourself going forward what is going to impress the market? Homology is very quiet. GL all.
MikeSO2…deja-vous. It’s Aviva all over again. I agree with you in that in the short time we are no better off after all the hype of the special Divi. In the longer term there are less shares in issue and Nwg like Aviva has turned a corner and we will hopefully see sp and Divi growth but there is no guarantee. It’s all dependant on the usual ups and downs of the market and Aviva has had a bumpy ride recently.
I would have sold prior to the consolidation only my holding is entirely in an ISA and don’t want to lose that. Aviva had the advantage of paying a capital return and the money was available almost immediately depending on your broker.
I agree many will feel aggrieved and short changed by what was basically just a means of reducing the shares in circulation. On the plus side the bod will be enjoying large bonus’s and sore heads for a job well done. Hic Hic..
Able to trade with the Halifax. Overall Valuation dropped in line with the special Divi. No better off, no worse off ! Average cost of shares has risen.
Inflationbuster…The Special Dividend is expected to be paid on or after Friday 16th September 2022.
Once the dust settles and are able to repurchase on the 16/17 Sept should only be down the dealing costs.
No real benefit to the private investor but we already knew that. Let’s hope that the company is in a good enough position to give a return by increasing its share price after this distraction.
What some are getting confused with Aviva is that they did a large capital return and not a special dividend. This is much simpler and ultimately the market will determine where the sp goes in the coming weeks. If they see value in NWG it will rise. All done and dusted now.
2 billion debt and market capital of 32 million ! Only going one way and surprised it’s taking so long..
Hi Kern. Oxb still as volatile as ever. Large swings for seemingly no reason. Did look at it this morning when it was in the 430’s and considered a small punt but it’s just to difficult to read. I wonder how the finances are?
Inflationbuster… yep, I am an Aviva holder and my average jumped massively after the share consolidation debacle. Although Aviva and Nwg differ in that Aviva did a capital return. This will also be on a much smaller scale, thankfully.
After the Aviva affair I was out of pocket by a small amount due to dealing costs. This is all smoke and mirrors and NWG is the only winner. You end up with the same value but less shares and a higher average. On the plus side this will all be forgotten if the share price keeps rising..
Not heavily invested here but the market does not seem overly impressed with the latest news. How much is the latest contract potentially worth? We can only guess! Will sit on my hands until some solid figures come in.
