Karl - I think they priced the warrants so that they would be in the money sharpish. Equity story here is v promising.

Addicknt, it doesn't look like they've used her for the last two RNSs, and they certainly didn't for the one that announced Scott's departure. The blame for poor communications does not lie with her, in my view, it lies with the company failing to make progress and giving her something to communicate to the market, or via our social media channels. Tufford had the same issue - he regularly complained to Scott and Chris Stackhouse that he had nothing to share with the shareholders and prospective shareholders that were allegedly calling him up.

A more proactive media strategy to drum up interest - in the trades, for example - has not delivered anything of note over the last few years. How many times have we read the takeover rumour story in mining.com, AFR, or in the Daily Mail? No one buys it anymore. Sacking our comms director isn't going to do anything but save us a few quid. If that's why you want rid of her then fine.

Positive Jiangxi RNS? Yes and no. The shares were worth 50% more when we received them upon completion of the Cornerstone merger. We still don't know whether the company sold them to cover their ars*s and give themselves working capital in the event they fail to unlock the next tranche of funding in Q2. We don't appear to be making much progress, and if we are we're not hearing about it.

Smick, plenty of retail aren't desperate to sell, you're right. But the shareholders who call the shots and actually matter, namely Mather, are up sh*t creek without a paddle, and need to see a return here. Dan Vujcic has not been appointed to develop Cascabel, he's been appointed to flog the asset for his mate Nick at all costs. Expect to see him awarded a stack of options very shortly, the company to go dark for 6-8 weeks and then announce a sale between 20-30p - probably of just Cascabel with proceeds divided up between a dividend for shareholders and ExploreCo.

I think Mather is behind this. At the drinks - for the time I was there - him and Vujcic didn't even speak to Caldwell, Stackhouse and Tufford. It's like they were part of a different organisation altogether and was frankly bizarre.

It is very difficult to read that RNS and think anything other than this company is in a royal mess. Anything else is just wishful thinking at this stage.

I think Cascabel is sold off for less than 20p. Mather is in financial distress, loaning out SOLG shares as collateral to loan sharks lending him money at crazy interest rates. I don't care how bullish he was at the London drinks, he and DGR are not in a good place.

The rest of the portfolio will be hived off and they will rinse and repeat with Porvenir and any other finds, learning (I hope) from the multiple mistakes they've made with Cascabel.

Addicknt, I imagine it's the environmental permit, which the company expects in Q4 2026, that majors will be happy to sit back and wait for. No permit, no mine. Why spend £1.5bn on Cascabel only for the Ecuadorians to turn around and say actually we don't want to built this, when you can wait 2 years and not have to worry about that happening?

What baffles and frustrates me is how/why so many of our in-country peers have managed to make much faster progress with their projects. The years of infighting and poor management (we nearly went under last year) have completely shafted us.

Fort, this is what our CFO said to me in person last night. The management team delivered that deal. It had nothing to do with Bob. Respectfully, I couldn't care less if it doesn't support your theories.

Sangha/Maxit are nothing more than a shareholder at this point and they had nothing to do with the FN/Osisko deal (the latest one). In fact, our CFO said that he may have annoyed Bob at some point during the negotiation/execution of that deal. Sangha has failed and moved on.

Perhaps you're right, with elections out the way and with our funding relatively secure (albeit tight) we might start seeing a recovery to a more reasonable SP.

I'm not sure. It reaffirmed my view that nothing is going to happen to the share price until we've got all the permits and signed those various agreements. All the majors and fund managers are interested, but are happy to sit back and wait and see whether this team can get more of the grunt work done before buying us out or making a move.

Of course, someone could just bid for the company from out of the blue, in which case those sitting on the sidelines miss out altogether, and the majors then have to enter into a competitive process or pass up on a Tier 1.
