Corun - have a look at the last 2 presentations on the company's website, dated June 2020 and Feb 2020. On the former p24 the US deal they've stated an expected date of summer 2020, so that's between now and 31/8/20 by my calculations. Any US deal will have a significant upfront payment. The CEO has stated the likelihood of a deal is 'high'. The presentation also lays out plans for Q2 2020. This includes the liquid iron study and PT20 work. Now due to covid it may not be possible to commence with the former and the latter is non critical so could easily be deferred too. Clearly delaying both will save STX money in the short term. The Q1 2021 cashflow run off is based on no additional revenues and planned expenditure, both of which could change. I think the cash run off has been poorly worded by STX as this is clearly the worst case scenario .

FinnCap has already stated US deal could have an upfront payment c$50m.

In the Feb presentation p5 has a breakdown of US earnings. If STX get a 10% market share, which i think is quite conservative, that's over £2bn in royalties. Current market cap just over £100m.

Whim, thanks for the Proactive interview - i'd missed that. He did mention he is cautious for this year a number of times. - he also looked like he was sitting in a cave!!

Re your comments and others i stand by my under whelmed comment regarding today's RNS.
Yes NXP002 delays were previously mentioned (RNS 27/5/20) so in 2 months it looks like there has been no material progress.
Also whilst Asian deals are now and have been previously mentioned in recent RNSs, on 25/10/19 in response to Times article NFX clearly stated multiple licencee discussions in Japan and Asia - now Japan has been dropped.
NXP004 yes delays were mentioned in same RNS but also stated pilot expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Now by end of 2020 so clearly a much longer delay.

As i said i like the products and hopefully a covid RNS could drop any time but based on info in the RNS and chairman's comments it might be a few months away.

NXP002 - no mention of Japanese deal so likelihood that this has stalled. Yes, Covid may have had an impact but other companies have stated that its actually helped negotiations as it's easier to get hold of people etc. Maybe the Japanese has changed their focus, hopefully only in the short term.

NXP004 - so after encouraging early results further work has been delayed as equipment has been re-assigned due to covid. No issue there, but expect that was the case a few months ago and there was no mention of this in the last RNS.

I still believe in the products but from this can't see a major RNS dropping for a few months as it would appear negotiations are not at an advanced stage as if they were i think it would have been mentioned. However, in the covid world things are moving quickly so i'm happy to be proved wrong.

Cash - ok at over £500k but admin and salaries are over £1m a year so hopefully milestone payments will get us to maybe Q2 2021.

With Brent back above $40 per barrel hopefully this will be a reasonable sum.

just re-reading RNS, and slightly concerned that the DTC bundles they sold contributed to reduction in gross margins. As IDP decide what bundles to sale surely this should have been factored in and only a limited number should have been made available. Via DTC ST regularly has a number of offers and these are heavily advertised. They can control the cost, sale price and volume so it seems slightly odd to mention this as a contributing factor in the profit decline.

Also, impact of covid etc is estimated at £0.9m. Last FinnCap report had rev at £15m and profit at £1.8m. So is the £0.9m off this figure so profit for year is £0.9m or is this in addition to the reduced revenue? As they haven't stated an estimated profit i'm slightly confused.

i think this is pretty good in the circumstances. Cash increased c£900k in H2 so hopefully profit of a similar amount. £300k loss for H1 was expecting overall YE profit of c£600k.
Don't forget retail sales in peak tanning season will have been minimal this year.

based on the 6 monthly operational updates i have revenues at just over £11m and gross profit of £4.5m.

Foe H1 i suspect reduced admin and wages will be c£1m and depreciation c£2m so a PBT of £1.5m.

With FX movement and crypto asset adjustments i would expect this to go higher as both are better than at YE.

OO need to become profitable as both Venn and Hvivo were loss making. Hvivo has 2 assets- the lab space and the quarantine unit that were previously under utilised. CF has already stated quarantine unit is nearly full sothe labs were the next area to focus on.
3 new contracts is great news .

Yes it's not overly exciting and isn't in the covid space but it shows that OO are utilising their resources better, and is closer to profitability now - if it is not already there
