I think Bigblu Broadband (BBB) did what you're suggesting back in October - issued special shares at 45p (c.38% of SP then), but immediately redeemed them (8am next day) and returned the capital to shareholders. Seemed a good idea at the time, but they've tanked ever since. No idea why because the BoD are totally silent.

Yes, PG, but that's essentially what happens with a dividend too. The difference is that with a capital return, the return is not taxable.

You'd think they'd be buying again at this level, though, especially if they have faith in the excellence of the 26th January announcement.
