With Amazon & Boeing getting in on the act, I feel your latter suggestion is the most likely. Their appearance in the field seems to have rendered BBB silent. And with so much selling but little to no buying going on, it's a concern. I can't afford to lose much more on them.

It's still only (only! Ha!) 3.9% above inflation (CPR).

I understand today, too, that the ONS have "announced that they are going to be changing the way they collect and report on the cost of food prices and inflation to take into consideration a wider range of income levels and household circumstances." (Jack Monroe, Twitter - @BootstrapCook.) This suggests that inflation will be more accurately reported, and from Monroe's research over the last few years that suggests it will be significantly higher than the current reported rates.

I don't quite understand the 12p dividend thing. Is it to be paid as a special for the next few years? And if so, when?

Interesting I received a letter just yesterday informing me that BT (my provider) is changing its online security from a the existing McAfee-based system to Norton. Users have to go to their online account and make the changes themselves, for some reason. In fact, I'll do that right now.

Well, whatever the dividend (or possibly a return of capital) the SP will see a concomitant fall. Markets are efficient like that.

Who's your broker? Some (such as Hargreaves Lansdown) pay to your account on a certain date. In the case of HL this is about 14th of the month.

Given that computers can do literally ANYTHING you ask (i.e., program) them to do, it's a racing cert that algorithms and bots are doing the work you describe. The mathematics and logic structures involved are so complex that there are very few people who would be able to spot it.

You're right about the semantic possibilities inherent in the announcement, but we probably have to temper our response to it in the light of the current linguistic twists and turns being parsed daily in the media with regard to the Johnson government and the shifting sands of its explanations and excuses. We've become too cynical about any public announcement from a large organisation. It's more likely to be just a similar linguistic construction to "try and [do something]," when "try to [do something]" is meant. Just a question of stylistics rather than sophistry.

As for the tech, self-driving vehicles would seem to be the most likely direction. How it would be game-changing, though, I'm not sure. Our current infrastructure isn't really conducive to the deployment of such vehicles. Milton Keynes, maybe, where Amazon already run small autonomous delivery carts, but about 95% of the inhabited parts of the country would be inaccessible.

(Nedre Vats, 24 January 2022) AutoStore Holdings Ltd. (AutoStore,
OSE:AUTO) continues all the patent infringement lawsuits that the AutoStore
Group filed in late 2020 against Ocado Group. These actions are in several
venues, including the U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.K. High
Court, and seek (among other remedies) injunctions barring the manufacture,
sale, and use of Ocado's infringing products in the U.S. and the U.K., as well
as monetary damages. Ocado itself has initiated litigation against AutoStore in
the U.S. and Germany, alongside oppositions in the European Patent Office.

We highlight recent positive developments for AutoStore in the European
litigation as follows:

· Last week, the European Patent Office upheld the validity of a key AutoStore
patent - the second in this patent family that the EPO has upheld - which is
part of our ongoing action in the U.K.

· We also sharpened our ongoing action in the U.K. proceedings to focus on three
particular patents, and we are in the midst of adding two more patents to the
suit. We took this action to further strengthen our patent infringement case
against Ocado.

· In proceedings before the Mannheim District Court last month, Ocado's request
for an injunction against AutoStore's Black Line robots, based on one of its
German utility models, was not granted. The Court considered that the Ocado
utility model was likely to be invalid and accordingly invited further
submissions from Ocado, pending a further hearing next month. Other proceedings
in relation to the Black Line range of robots are ongoing but will have no
commercial impact on AutoStore.

None of these legal developments affects the operations or success of our
growing global business. As the pioneer of cube storage automation, we have

No one seems to want to talk about this stock any more.

There's been an awful lot of selling and very little buying for weeks now. I guess There are fewer investors around to care now.

My worry now is that I'm going to lose an awful lot on BBB. My only hope is that the BoD's silence is preparation for a fabulous announcement in the next few months. With Amazon's Project Kuiper and Boeing getting in on the act, it's not looking good.
