The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
The SP is down another 1.5%, that's all we need to know.
And another buy at 11:52:54, 17/05/22, value £4,462, and the SP goes from being 1.5% down to 2.14% down.
FIXED!!!
It's also true, however, that the HL screen is stating "Return of Capital due 19 May 2022", so it's confusing. It's possible they will be receiving the AV money by 19th, but it's not clear why there's no mention of the date on AV's literature.
Realist1 - also, from today's RNS:
"It is expected that the holders of Ordinary Shares entitled to receive payments in respect of the proceeds from the redemption of the B Shares will receive such payment by 31 May 2022, and the holders of ADSs entitled to receive payments in respect of the proceeds from the redemption of the B Shares will receive such payment by 6 June 2022 in order to allow for the conversion from pounds sterling to US dollars by the Depositary."
Also, form today's RNS:
"It is expected that the holders of Ordinary Shares entitled to receive payments in respect of the proceeds from the redemption of the B Shares will receive such payment by 31 May 2022, and the holders of ADSs entitled to receive payments in respect of the proceeds from the redemption of the B Shares will receive such payment by 6 June 2022 in order to allow for the conversion from pounds sterling to US dollars by the Depositary."
This is the timetable on AV's website:
Tuesday 29 March 2022 - Record date for ADS Holder entitlement to vote at General Meeting
Tuesday 5 April 2022 - Publication of Circular and Notice of General Meeting
Monday 11 April 2022 - Posting of Circular and Notice of General Meeting
Thursday 5 May 2022 - Record date for Shareholder entitlement to vote at General Meeting
Monday 9 May 2022 - General Meeting
6pm on Friday 13 May 2022 - Record time for entitlement to B Shares and Share Consolidation in respect of Existing Ordinary Shares
By Tuesday 31 May 2022 - Redemption payment settlement date for B shares
Promptly after Monday 6 June 2022 - Redemption payment settlement date for ADSs

"By" is the salient word. So, unless HL have been promised a payment date of 19th, it's probably best to allow for a payment some time up to 31st.
11:55, 17/05/22 - 91.5% buys, 8.5% sells and SP down 1.5%.
FIXED!!!
Don't worry, GregorySallust, Barclays are probably doing you a favour. I bought more this morning (HL) at 395 and it's down to 390 now.
R_hnew - yes, the HL platform is quite laughable. As I type it's showing AV at +21.31%, but there's no change to my holding value. The software must have been knocked up by some undergrad IT students.
If, in relation to their wealth and future lives, people have not made themselves aware of order-of-magnitude changes that have been announced and discussed all over the media and elsewhere for months, not hidden away in a single three-line announcement in the classifieds, then perhaps they need a wake up call. Happy to be of service.
"I'm with HL. They seem to have things under control."
Not at this very moment, they don't - they're showing AV 23.34% UP but with no change to my investment value. This is really showing up the HL platform for the amateur bit of software it actually is.
"Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, The Exchange, 150 Morrison Street, Edinburgh EH3 8EE on Wednesday 18 May 2022 at 2pm (UK time)."

Yes, that's what they say in their email, but AV say they'll pay on or before 31st May. That might mean HL make the funds available in the HL account for reinvestment but not for withdrawal until it's received from AV. Similar to when you sell shares - the funds are available almost straight away for reinvestment but can't be withdrawn until after settlement (usually two days after sale).
Quite. I just feel that in (as you suggest) such potentially emotive situations it's important not to stoke the fear with comments such as "the trading platforms will show that you have made a loss on your investment" when no loss will be indicated, just changes in the numbers. < thumbs up >
"On Monday the trading platforms will show that you have made a loss on your investment ... "
Really? When I went through the RoC with BBB all I noticed was a reduction in the amount invested, not a reduction in its value, then the RoC appeared in my account on the date announced. So, it might LOOK as though 25% of one's holding has disappeared, but it will be paid as cash on or before 31 May into your account. Ignoring SP moves, whatever your gain/loss was on the day before the RoC will remain more or less the same after it.
