Anyone have any idea what happened here ??? Suspended and all open positions closed according to the word on the internet. And £13 million missing from client accounts ? I've an account with Marketspreads the offshoot from worldspreads and am a little bit worried. !

I assumed that they would just move to the smaller exchange but maybe not. ? I'm not really following these closely at the moment. Are these going to be 100% nationalized ?

Just trying to do some maths on this. 7 million market cap at the moment. 3.8 Billion more to come in from the Government. Looks like 99.998% nationalization with a new market cap of 4.5 billion. Or will market capitalization really come into it at that stage ? Look at ALBK, it seems to be rock stable now. But no more huge money to be made there. But maybe small chunks could be taken from time to time ?

I would be tempted myself to buy some shares here today or in the next couple of days , if money wasn't so tight at present.

Had an order in for 11.9 but got jittery and revised it a bit down .

Feel your pain Eskimo ! I'm kind of serious about my mad idea but I doubt if anyone in authority would consider it . But a gift or grant instead of an injection would have some merits I believe . First , it wouldn't dilute the shareholders so shareholder capital could be re-attracted to the bank . Second , The state / eu would get a big chunk of the money back nearly straight away as capital gains tax / gift tax . And / or income tax . Third , it would cushion shareholders from the blow that seems on the cards at the moment , Shareholders being people's pension , life savings etc (as well as us stock market gamblers here ! :) )

Cunning Plan - I've had another cunning plan today to sort all this fuss in the banks ! It's so simple , I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner , but sure better late than never ! :))) Ok it is as follows . Instead of Injecting all this new capital into the banks , the Government & EU etc. simply make a GIFT of the money to the banks to boost their Capital . That way there is no shareholder dilution and new investors would be more attracted to our banks . I can discuss more of the merits of this plan later if anyone is interested .

50% up here now from the low this morning ! Would have been a nice punt for people !
