I've got another reason ( or reasons ) for believing that ALBK and BKIR and IPM are in for a bit of a rising period . I've heard a Delta Index ( spread trading ) fellow knocking the Banks on Newstalk business program this morning . Also heard the same lad knocking them last Saturday on the same program . Also my spread bet crowd Worldspreads have raised their margin on the Banks by 10% during the week . ALBK and BKIR gone up to 50% Initial Margin from 40% and IPM gone up to 40% from 30%. My reason for thinking that the spread betting crowds are attacking the banks is that they have an awful lot of upwards bets on the banks at the moment and they are scared sh:tless of having to pay out big on these bets . The spread betting thing normally works with both longs and shorts on each share or instrument , from some people who bet on the share rising and others who bet on the share falling . The spread betting crowds can normally add the longs and shorts together and a kind of cancel each other out , to a certain degree . With the shorting ban still in place on the Irish banks , no shorting is allowed so all the bets have to be upward bets which at the moment could lose the spread betting crowds a heap of money . Hence their dislike of the Irish Banks at the moment . All IMHO !

Results out today ! A nice lump of a loss , But the price is after shooting up initially . So must be favourable market reaction . I had my eye off the ball and got stopped out of one of my IPM spread bet's at a nice profit ! before I could get my spreadbetting platform open . Was quickly reading through IPM results and one figure that looked good was IPM's core tier one capital ratio = 9.2% . 8% being the minimum recommended figure . The other Irish banks are below 8% and trying hard to get up to it . So maybe results not too bad !

2% up on the day . Not too bad after evil looking impairment figures !
