Typically misleading persimmon. The price given as the previous close (45) was the buy price. There's been 1 very small trade today, at yesterday's sell price (34). The spread is 25%. Would you have come on here to say it was UP 24% if the final trade yesterday was a sell at 34, and the first trade today was a buy at 45? Of course not.

Well said baits. The 'mirasols' together with the disgruntled long term holders here who bought at the wrong time make for strange bedfellows. There could even be posters working for bidders for the company also trying to keep the share price down. As with many oiler bulletin boards I suspect actual shareholders are in the minority.

People don't participate in a placing unless they think the price will rise. The 'market' only responds to news. There has been no news of a firm offer price so the market has simply responded to the last lot of news - the placing. That's why the price is where it is. To suggest it's because no-one is going to pay more is very misleading.
