The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
C’mon PMG/Martin/SEE let’s get back to the dizzy heights of 12p again !
Yes looks like camera monitoring not driver monitoring.
Also driver pic unfortunately does not have our Gen3 box in the truck .
Hopefully they will need our DMS as regulation hots up !
With improved aerodynamics and new technologies, such as Volvo’s Camera Monitoring System which replaces traditional exterior mirrors, the new FH Aero can reduce energy consumption and emissions by up to five per cent*.
A new advanced Camera Monitoring System contributes greatly to both aerodynamics and safety. This new solution opens the visual field for the driver, improving the safety for the driver as well as the surrounding road users.

Should also be bullish for Magna
Bullish Highlights
Expects strong growth in exterior mirror shipments.
Sees driver monitoring as a short-term revenue opportunity.
Anticipates increased demand for in-cabin monitoring technology in Europe due to new regulations
Earnings call: Gentex reports solid growth and optimistic outlook for 2024

Nick DiFiore, SVP and GM Automotive commented:
“We are delighted to have our first Japanese OEM award and believe that we will continue to be
successful in this region as more programs are finalised to meet the shrinking timeframes for safety
and regulatory requirements, globally. We have invested in a seasoned and capable sales and
technical support team in Japan, who are developing relationships with key stakeholders across the
Automotive industry, and this win is an important step for Seeing Machines to become the region’s
DMS technology supplier of choice.
CB is well respected & you must think that he has a good handle on the current DMS/ADAS landscape & in communication with SEE.
But like us he does not know all the facts about what models SEE is in due to non disclosure agreements etc but you would hope he’s right about BMW.
Interestingly most of Smarteyes 1 million cars on the road are BMW so we could hit 2 million very quickly once BMW ramp up production!
I just wish SEE would state this in public so we don’t go mad having to second guess their every move !
We also have Smarteye with their 'cheap beeping box' trying to offer it literally for free so they gain critical mass.
Some Chinese & other OEMs will be considering the cheaper offers for sure but hopefully the BMW's & Mercedes of this world will stick with quality.
If Smarteye survive & manage to get another fund raise I think this will be a bad sign for us, but if they struggle then we will definitely capitalize. R&D is expensive and trying to please all OEM's is a thankless task at times.
My biggest gripe is how SEE are failing to capture investor excitement ! All this staying under the radar and letting the tech speak for itself is not what retail investors want. They also want the sizzle so i really feel we could do with better marketing to promote what we do & who we work with. Is it really a secret that we will be in BMW cars ?? Can we not tell the world that we will be in BMW & VW models ??
So frustrating to see this share price sit around 5p with all this positive news flow.
What’s it going to take to lift this stock up ? PMG, we need more contract wins, where is the Japanese OEM you promised us ?

EV maker’s stock heads for first gain in 2024, after many previous bounce attempts failed!
Shares of Fisker Inc. skyrocketed Monday toward their first gain this year, after the troubled electric-vehicle maker disclosed an agreement with an institutional investor that will free up cash to run the company.
The rally puts the stock on track for its first gain of 2024.
“I am pleased that we were able to reach an agreement with one of our investors that will provide increased flexibility and better position us to execute on potential strategic business deals,” said Chief Executive Henrik Fisker.
The stock FSR soared 30.5% in morning trading, toward its biggest one-day gain since it ran up 32.1% on Feb. 26, 2021. The rally puts the stock on track to snap a seven-session losing streak, which would be the longest since the 10-day losing streak that ended Jan. 27, 2022.
After the last post, I was asked to say more about Seeing Machines becoming a software-as-a-service #SaaS company. Below are some brief thoughts. As the image shows, Seeing Machines has captured more than 15 billion km of real-world naturalistic driving #data. It has video of over 17.6 million #distraction events, and has intervened in critical #fatigue events almost 390,000 times just in the last 12 months. These are times where drivers HAVE BEEN ASLEEP WHILE DRIVING.
The Seeing Machines #Guardian platform was a commercial success that also doubled as the R&D platform to gather massive quantities of real-world data. No one else in the industry is anywhere close. As I have said frequently, in an era of #AI and #machinelearning the company with the largest data set wins.
Seeing Machines was the first #DMS company to get out of the lab (in CAT mining trucks, maybe back in 2005) and was immediately learning in one of the harshest environments for complex #vision #processing. An early lesson was the need to make the kit waterproof, because drivers jet wash the interior of mining trucks.

Massive volumes, can't be because of the FT article can it ?
One of the world’s leading suppliers of technology for new cars has introduced a high-tech anti-drunk driving system which could lead to thousands of lives being saved.

I am leaving Smart Eye and am about to embark on an AI adventure. I started at Affectiva in 2014 and then joined Smart Eye in 2021 when Affectiva got acquired and we merged the two companies. It has been such an interesting and fun ride. In the past decade we accomplished so many awesome things.
Congratulations to the Volkswagen ID.7 which has been awarded the 2024 What Car? Safety Award!
The ID.7 received praise from the judging panel for its collaborative integration of ADAS, inclusion of technology to protect vulnerable road users, and use of augmented reality to help drivers stay informed while keeping their eyes on the road.
We’ll be sharing our What Car? Safety Award overview video soon.

If Smart Eye's 1 million cars are mostly BMW from 2018, what happens when they become end of life vesicles or will they always be accounted for by Smarteye ??
Also if SEE pick up these kind of volumes from BMW then we could be at 2million cars sooner than we think !
See Smarteye comments below for context :
A majority of the 1,000,000+ cars produced with Smart Eye’s DMS software are manufactured by BMW, with series production initiated in late 2018. These car models all include Driver Monitoring as an optional add-on. The other car models in production are produced by leading global manufacturers, including one of US largest automakers, two of China’s largest automakers, a Japanese-European multinational car alliance and a South Korean multination automobile manufacturer. Smart Eye’s DMS will also be included in the new Polestar 3, the Swedish brand’s electric performance SUV that will be revealed in October.

This looks a very cool car to own with SEE DMS, integrated:

CB is one of our biggest champions, but even he can't influence the share price.
If he is right then all shareholders will be well rewarded !
